Sounds actually like a good DJ but a poor host? I'd never drop a vibe - when it's strong you keep it going!
Agree! This is what i don't get about a lot of kjs- they don't understand that a consistent vibe or flow in their shows goes a long way!
Kjs that SHOULD but don't use filler music (if they're rotation isn't jam packed) should realise that dead air kills the party. It's like someone hit the "stop" button just when it was getting good. Now the kj has to jump start the party again or HOPE that someone picks an upbeat song.
or worse....kjs that think they're funny with witty bantor making silly observations between every song. Not everyone wants to have to listen and pay attention to verbal garbage-......they wanna have fun- with music it's automatic and relatable.
30 seconds of good lively filler music not only lifts the potential cloud off a slow song, but plants ideas for fun songs in the heads of other singers.
Went to see a fellow kj's show tonite and he doesn't seem to get the idea he's NOT funny and there's NO FLOw to his show. I told him to kiss my grits when he said he doesn't need music or lights to add atmosphere. 2 hours into his 'show' and only 5 people.....at the bar NOT paying attention. That killed me to watch his kj-suicide on his 7th show there. Won't be there much longer. -too bad- has 5 kids and needs the extra job.
Told him to come to here to the 'scene' and learn a few things if he dares- he said he doesn't need any help. He learned all he needs to know from going to karaoke shows for a whole year in kansas and watching 3 kjs do their jobs.
...amateurs...too many inexperienced close-minded know-it-all know-nothings. Nice guy and decent personality- just NOT funny or entertaining.
sorry..end rant. Thanks for letting me share.
we now return you to our regularly scheduled program.
