I think car racing would be cool as an Olympic sport.

 ....... I agree.

Or, atleast a demolition derby. Surely our big ol' American cars would squash all those foreign makes in heat #1:)

Yea! I'm sure Tony Stewart would participate if he could take his magnets :)

I was wondering what they were referring to when they talked about the coaches tradgedy at home. What was the story on that. I never heard anything about a man passing away from the USA in China.

He was stabbed by a crazy Chinese guy, while sight-seeing......it was totally random, and they believe the "nut" didn't know he was a US citisen....it happened well before the Opening Cerimonies(spell...lol) had begun.....the nut then jumped to his death......I guess that gives him some redeeming qualities...... :)

That's horrible!

I guess there are crazies everywhere. I can't imagine how that coach held it together. The stress of losing a parent that way and the stress of trying to win a gold medal is enough to give anyone a nervous breakdown. What an amazing individual.

I was thinking more of a small sedan series. Cars would be set to a certain formula as far as engine size and output. Weight and cost. A good choice would be any of the inexpensive economy car that most countries can get their hands on. Kias, Hundais, Cobalts, and others of that type. Or perhaps one single design could be used like a Formula Ford with a 1.8 or smaller four cylinder engine.

If it were to be "a race" I was thinking more along the lines of say, a 1972 mach 1 Mustang... 351 Cleveland, ram air hood, posi rearend, sure.. I'll race against your Hyundai:)
