Hi,
I would be happy for suggestions as to why I cannot submit any new songs.
I use Internet Explorer. I have allowed my Windows Firewall and McAfee Internet Suite to give full access to Singersshowcase. When I try to upload a song, it times out after about 2-3 seconds :( I have deleted all cookies, temp internet files, etc. I have used the same computer system for the last couple of years. Also, I keep the mbs of the songs within the required limit.
Does anyone have suggestions for what I could try :?:

Thanks,
Teresa

hey Teresa how lovely to see you...this happens frequently to a lot of people. Some of us have even got into the habit of copying what we have written in the description box so as we can simply paste it in on the 2nd and sometimes 3rd attempt.
If it times out do it again...it will eventually take hon...thats if you havent said to hell with it before then

Hey Teresa,

Yeah. It happens all the time to me, when I get the chance to post that is.

I do just what Vicki said and copy the description everytime because I know

I'll have to do it 5 or 6 times more. Also even though it says 3 Mb is the limit

I've had it to refuse songs that were 2.95 Mb so you might be hitting that mark

and not realise it.

One other thing would be if the ISP had cut your bandwidth if you do alot of surfing

and downloading. That would make your connection slower and your upload could

time out on the SS servers side. I think this one is highly unlikely.

I would just stick with the first one and keep trying it until it goes through. I blame

this on their servers not being able to handle the demand when alot of people try to

post at the busy times.

Man. Am I long winded or what? LOL

This probably don't help any but at least you know other people are in the same

boat.

Trav............................

This issue has been going on for several months for myself and several others. I'll type in my description, click to upload and after a few minutes I get the 'windows cannot display this page' screen ( it's a very common screen, we've all seen before!) So I just copy and paste my description on Wordpad and try again.. it can take about 3 times for it to work...

Hi Joyce, Vicki and Trav.... I usually try it about 4-5 times and then walk away in disgust  My high speed internet is supposed to be really fast so I know that's not the problem. My ISP worked with me on the issue several months ago and concluded that it's a problem of the SS site. I'll certainly keep trying but it would be nice if someone could figure out what the deuce is going on :? Thanks for the input!!! :)

Teresa in my experience, the SS side of things is considered of less importance than KS so we may be waiting a while. Its unmoderated and any time something has been brought to anyones attention it can take days if at all to address these things

I agree with Vicki about the SS side of the side being considered of less importance, which when you think about it is really a buncha nonsense.

To be a member of the KS forum is free so it would seem the subscribed members of SS are, at least partially, paying for the site to continue running. There's something very wrong with that situation when we (paying members) are put on the back burner and can't rely on anyone to fix a problem when it arises (which is all the time).

Some people are pretty disgusted with the whole thing to tell the truth. Kinda makes ya wonder what would happen if everyone decided to drop their paid memberships

Wow, I've had the same problem. I also copy my description so I don't have to retype it. This often happens on Monday for some reason.

I'm going to start a new thread over in the "Comments, Suggestions & Questions" forum that is for stating frequent, technical problems that are occurring in Singers Showcase only. Maybe people could state their problem there and give as much detail about it as possible. That way all technical SS related issues can be listed in one area and hopefully be noticed and resolved.

I will look into this - I cannot get it to replicate this problem for me I have uploaded several songs each of various sizes. All without any incident?

It could be due to that fact that I have a high speed connection - I don't know - I will see what I can do from another computer -

I will see what I can do - I know people have told me about this previously but if I can't get it to replicate I cannot figure out what the problem is in order to fix. I can't fix what isn't broken???

Sorry
