I know I probably used up my question voucher for the year, but if I could make this my last one for a while. My system is up and running now, thanks to the people here.
I just finished ripping the last of my CDGs to my hard drive, and now have 1,500/2,000 songs roughly. Of course I want/need more, but I had bought the 6 Super CDG set a while back (Chartbuster) with 450 songs on each DVD. That could roughly double the music I have now if they can be ripped to the harddrive. Is there any way to do that? My ripper doesn't seem to recognize them since they are different from the standard CDGs.
I can always use them in my DVD player if thats the only option.
Someone asked this question a while back, but I couldn't find the thread.
Thanks, Ron

Thanks for that Sevarin... :) Jeez, it seems like all I have been doing is buying software the past couple of months, but whats one more. Actually, it would be a good deal in that I stole 4 of the super CDGs ( 5.00 each on E-Bay ) so, thats 1,800 songs for 20.00. No I'm not gonna bytch about another 39.00 to be able to rip them.

If this is the case then, just curious why going this route is never mentioned as an option in the CDG music threads. Don't mean this in a smart (@$%&#!) way, but wouldn't it be cheaper perhaps? Ron

I thought you could legaly rip any CDGs that were bought legaly. I do have proof of purchase, but Thanks for the heads up, cause if there is something I'm not aware of, I sure don't want to get caught up in an arguement here over this. Ron

While most officials might let you slide if you own the originals the songs came from, It is technically illegal to format shift the songs into hard drive files. That said I doubt they will bother with you as they are more interested in the ones that share their files with others in a big scale, like selling copies of their songs to others without the license to do so.

Ok Danny, just trying to understand here, not argue, I didn't know what a CDG was a few months ago, but talk of ripping CDGs on these forums has been openly accepted, and as natural as any topic could be since I've been reading these threads. Even the moderator here talks about it. Still confused.

On my 1 1/2 hour ride home tonight, I kind thought the same thing, and wished there were a flush button for this thread. I have skimmed over threads where legal issues were talked about for this or that on KS.But I got the answer I needed already, and wish to leave it at that. My problem is that I think in black & white. Either it's legal, or it's not. If it's legal then I shoudn't be afraid to talk about it, or do it, and if its not then the opposite would be true. Naturally, I assumed it is legal, since ripping is talked about in one form or another on a daily basis on these forums. What it seems like then is that there are differing opinions on whats legal or not, so that being the case, an argument will go on forever. I'm done and now I am flushing this thread forever........................Ron

Yea, what's one more! $39.00 bucks here, another $39.00 bucks their...
You've bought what... 3 maybe 4 programs. There's a less inexpensive way and it'll
OUT-PERFORM all of them put together. It's not a Burner... but it'll do Everything Else.
CDGFix.

Kind Regards,

I think it's ridiculous how MOST Karaoke Software Developers Sell you programs to do the various tasks on a Program-By-Program basis.

1. Create Songbook
2. CDG to MP3+G
3. SCDG to MP3+G
4. NEO+G to MP3+G
5. JB199(NCG) to MP3+G

And Much Much More... CDGFix ($70.00)

Kind Regards,
sw00000p
