Hi Folks......I popped by earlier but only got a chance to read the last post wich was the Saltire..(Scottish Flag)...
The really warmed my heart......Thankyou SweetestL..........That was such a lovely suprise and especially when I am not in Scotland at the moment....It made me think of home....
Then I started working through some of the posts in search for karoke singers...and to my surprise, there are people talking about cutting some Scottish mens Nibbly Bits off....jeeeez..
....I'd rather hang on to mine...So tell me if tinkle you off...
Thanks Lordy for the Drunken Scotsman song.....I had my speakers turned off and was waiting on the video starting....Doh!!!.......then I put my brain into gear......that made me chuckle...and surprisingly..!!..I never heard it before..
MLF....I did the Edinburgh Fringe 4 years ago and loved it......Their is just to much to see and do and I did plan on going back this year.....but I had to travel....but maybe next.........Concerning the Scotsman you said were grumpy old Bstd's.......Did their Surnames end with Son...
...we usually find them to be the worst...hehe...
Yeh...the Scottish flag on my post.....I am made up.!!
Regs John.
hope you realise its all in fun...the grumpy bastards names were Leddie (or Leddy) unsure of sp and wilson so I guess its a 50/50 thang
when you said did the fringe, were you performing? I want to go simply for the fringe, the tattoo itself wouldnt interest me that much yet its sold out months in advance...But the fringe fest would appeal far more. I liked Edinburgh when I visited but its just a tad too austere for my taste...a fraction too presbyterian...I prefer the charm of thatched cottages and stone circles
I will say however that the best meal I had whilst in Britain was in a little place called Melrose, I believe Robert the Bruce's heart was buried at Melrose Abby...the two pubs in Melrose are owned by friends and we stayed overnight in their home before moving through Edinburgh then up the coast a ways to the less salubrious Leven/Levin then on to St Andrews and other places I would have to look up
Hi MLF........Yeh....Nothing wrong with a bit of fun I say.
.........I have been on songwriting boards for years and it's nice when a thread takes on a life of it's own.........Yeh.!!....I did work the fringe.......One of mates was doing a turn and myself and a few guys from the studio did his music for him....Great fun.
...........As for Edinburgh.?.....Well they do say a Glasgow funeral is like an Edinburgh wedding..
...Presbyterian by name and by nature....We did try and persuade them all to go to Canada / Australia and New Zealand etc.
....but some stayed behind unfortunately...Oooops!!..
.............I have played Melrose (border country) and St Andrew's and devoured great food in both...mmm....but I do love St Andrews....the locals are brill......So friendly..
So because you mentioned St.Andrews.....and that's the home of Golf....
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jhom6RdNUxk
and this one.....because a Scottish guy came up with the whole stage Song / Routine...........

I am off to find the biggest splif I can find......Well.....When in Amsterdamn..?????.
And......
Nice one on the pics Eben......I love them......really nice quality too......I think I recognise a few faces I know form the birds of prey circuit......I'll send you a link to the games I attended in June/July...Once I get home.......
And Yes.....most of the guys would wear full dress when competing in the H/games......otherwise.....children would be screaming for their mothers..
....Those guys have arms the size of my thighs...jeeeeeeeeez....Scary..
Regs...John.
