I find it amazing how often people are indisposed when it is their turn to sing next. If "Tom" has been singing right after "Rich" all night; why does Tom have to go outside for a cigarette or run to the john for a pee in the middle of Rich's song????? The same people always seem to be the ones that need to be repeatedly called up to the stage. It's almost as if they think they need to make some sort of grand entrance. I guess I'd have a rule that said if you weren't ready to come on stage when your name was called you would be dropped back 5 spots in the rotation and 10 spots back if it happened again. I'd make an allowance if it was their first time singing that night because they wouldn't have an idea of who they sang after.
Plus that theory is only going to apply if the rotation works in that manner. Rotations where new singers are inserted between singers will change that order, sometimes often so you can maybe guage, but not necessarily be accurate.
