Babs if I heard you sing "I Will Always Love You" I'm sure I'd be just as moved.

If there was a point to what I put up yesterday, other than just reminiscing about how I got started, it's that no matter how old or overdone you may think a song you are doing is, it may be reaching someone in a special way in the room. Not every night, but once in a while. And usually when you aren't expecting it.

It's funny how numerous people on this thread can claim that they have a hard time picking their ONE favorite song because they have so many that they sing well and NO ONE has a problem with that......but as soon as I say that my NEXT song is my BEST song. the two instigators have to chime in with their Sarcastic PUH Lease!!! comments. I hear new songs all of the time and I look forward to learning how to sing them. Once I feel that I have practiced a song to the point where I know it very well; I feel that it is my new BEST song. I never said that my BEST song is better than anyone else's. I don't like to keep singing the same songs all of the time. To me it's like reading the same book over and over. It seems like a waste of time to me but I understand that some people are different than I am when it comes to learning new songs and that is fine. My original comment in this thread was no different than saying that my favorite beer is my Next Beer but two people that look for any reason to criticize me felt the need to leave their snide little comments and then when I go after them; their "fluff buddies" come out of the woodwork to defend them. I look forward to my NEXT BEST song and if anyone has a problem with it; that's just too bad. If you don't want to get verbally slapped; you shouldn't start what you can't finish.

Not it means I don't care one whit what someone looks like, nor sounds like. Ruthie has asked me MANY times to be honest, and I am. Certain songs she does very well at, others, not so much. But she HAS FUN, and that's ALL I consider Karaoke to be worth... it's an ENTERTAINMENT form, and it's NOT just for the pretty people. I know I would have been disqualified some time ago based on that last factor!
