Very interesting mickey, Galveston and Witchita Lineman both have eluded me because they're too hard to sing. I'll have to dig them out and try again, but I'm pretty sure I still can't sing them. If I could sing them I would sing them both regularly.

Good song! I've heard other Celine songs, but I've only heard this one in karaoke once ever.

Celine's songs are very hard to do. She has quite the range.

Providing we include all different versions of "it's all coming back to me now", eg Meatloafs and Celine Dions, thats the most sung song this year on our system.
"Pour some sugar on me" is first or second.... depending on how the above is calculated
If you fancy a trip over to England at any one of our shows you're likely to hear it.

Steelhearts " Angel Eyes ". Check it out on Youtube, this dude is the real deal. Also Strypers, To hell with the Devil is pretty tough to sing also.

Stay with it, and practice practice practice. I am now confident with Wichita Lineman, but I don't always feel it is a good song choice. Galveston I only try if I am feeling really good, and I still don't totally nail that money note. If you removed that one note, it would be one of my best songs.
I will try to submit one of those in the next couple days. My equipment is a bit in flux with sales, purchases, and rigs out for gigs, but I think I can probably still record a quick song.

I did indeed submit Wichita Lineman quickly. Not that good a recording, but it should show how I have gone from "when hell freezes over" to acceptable on a song.

I haven't sung either of those, but I've enjoyed singing Southern Nights which I suspect is easier than those two!

My most difficult song is "More Than A Feeling". I sing it, but that high G eludes me now that I'm in my 40's. Brad Delp wasn't able to hit that note in his later years either, so he had someone else hit it live.

For me, "Hook" by Blues Traveler is the hardest I've ever sung. Mostly because I use it as a contest song or a closeout before I leave. That late at night, my voice is filled with dry smoke and it's tough to hit Popper's notes.
The one song I've tried and really sucked at was "One Week" by Barenaked Ladies.
I won't be doing that one again...

I love the song "Hook". I have someone that does it at karaoke. Very hard song.
"One Week" ? Boy that is ambitious for anyone ! You pretty much have to know the lyrics by heart and not be drinking to pull that one off. I've only had one person able to do it at karaoke and when he does it brings down the house. I always joke it is his subriety test.

"Hook" for me is actually fun. I'd never even heard of BT until 1996 when I met a guy who killed my best rendition of "Babe" in a contest. Everytime I get my butt kicked, I'd try to learn the song that beat me. In fact, I wish they did more Blues Traveler. I've got copies of "Imagine", "Run around", "Hook" and "Carolina Blues". Why can't I find a copy of "Mountains Win Again", or "Girl Inside My Head"?
But "One Week" just won't be performed in public by me, ever again....

I found another song which to me seems very difficult to sing and to sing really well, Kentucky Rain. I heard it performed a couple of nights ago and the guy did a very good job in my opinion. This is a song that I have hoped to be able to sing and do a good job on someday. I'll keep practicing . . .

I have only sang Karaoke openly once (so far), but I was just wondering, can anyone sing "Silent Lucidity" by Queensryche? Man that song blows me away, and just seems like that one would be very diificult to do. Ron
If I knew how, I would post the youtube link for the acoustical version, it's awesome.

Silent Lucidity is probably one of QR easiest song for me. All their other stuff is in too high of a registry vocally.

For years I have wanted to do "Without You" by Mariah Carey. I can get through all of it until the end...then my voice strips all gears. . I have done it successfully once at home, but never since. Booo!

I am sure that I can think of a few, but just the other day...I tried to learn to sing "Peace Train" by Cat Stevens. Though I was probably on key, the timing was off by a mile. It was so bad that a friend who was sent a sneak preview didn't even bring up the topic thereafter!!!! I guess the train left before I arrived at the station - .
Oh well...there are other songs!
Peace!
Ron
