If you are anything like me you havnt been to a club where a band was playing in years.. Thru myspace I just met one hell of a band here in Greeley. I called Ed on the phone to audition for guest singing and maybe do some open mic gigs. They do have a steel guitar and fiddle. Take a listen to these guys.. Click on videos and watch ..The video is at Doug Kershaws club and yes we have done karaoke there for years..

My fiancee used to work at a restaurant over here called Bistro Live. They served fair food, then had a band who would play all night, while people danced on tables and so on. It was always full of fancy dress, girls nights out, hen nights, stag nights, office parties.

They had some great bands and some not so great bands. All cover bands though - as that was the music the place would need.

One night we went along to a showcase, where employees and partners had a free meal, saw 6 new bands and voted as to who would be taken on.

We saw one band, and it was 6 guys in orange "Prison" jumpsuits. Typical student-indie lads - guitar and drum heavy, good synth use and good vocals.

But the way they played - rock covers of pop songs, random rap's thrown in, a real tongue-in-cheek attitude - they were awesome. They got signed on the spot.

Tried to see how much it would be to hire them for our wedding: £2000 - $4000

OUCH!

But I love seeing new live music!

We have all kinds of bands here. I don't get the chance to see very many though because of work. The nice thing about Chicago is you can find awesome Blues Bands. I was able to see BB King last summer. Yes he's still alive.

It was at Ravinia. There is seating for the stage, but mostly people bring picnic baskets and a blanket and sit out in the grass. It is a neat experience.
