Brewers are coming up to play the Cubs, but the way it's going, the cubbies will certainly beat us again.

Yeah!!! Brewers beat the Cubs today and The Mariners beat the Mets. The Brew Crew got the wild card spot in the playoffs.

I can't imagine what Chicago would be like if the Cubs and White Sox were in the World Series. I'd be staying home for sure. There are so many arguments in bars now over whose better. It hasn't happened in 102 yrs that they were both in the playoffs. I heard an announcer say Chicago is the baseball capital of the world. That's the first time I've ever heard that !

No offense to anyone, but I'd be surprised if the White Sox made it very far in the playoffs this year. I wish them the best, but I think the Cubs are the team to watch.

I am sure that some New Yorkers might take umbrage at that comment. It would be very interesting if the Cubbies and the WSox got in the World Series .

The Cubs sucked big time last night. It was so depressing. I so would have loved to start out with a win.
I hope we don't through it all away. I know some teams get to the play offs and are played out so to speak, so even though they are expected to do well, don't. We've just been waiting for sooo long. A lot of good teams this year !

It felt odd when the announcer said it.

Wow... things are not looking too good for the Cubs.

Good Luck to the Cubs Babs. I'm a die hard South Sider and I'd love a cross town series...but it ain't looking good. I do have to commend you on a sports fan thing of mine. Most fans say things like "We won" or use words like "us" when they talk about their favorite teams. Your initial post read "We are going to the playoffs" and "We Won today." I always ask people if they are on the team if they are using the first person pronouns. I say this because when a team loses it is always "they lost" or "they sucked" or "the cubs suck" as the fan can distance themselves from the team when they lose. It is rarely "we lost" in this case. I commend you on saying "I hope we don't throw it all away." Good luck in LA.

I never thought of it that way. I really connect with sports. When I watch the games sometimes I'm swinging an imaginary bat. So maybe I do think I'm part of the team.
Last nights game was depressing. I can't just watch the games and not be effected. It actually bumbed me out the rest of the night.
I am a real Cubs fan. Although I do hope the White Sox the best. I don't find any pleasure in a Chicago team doing poorly. I'd be cheering for them loudly if the Cubs weren't in it, but I wouldn't be saying "we".
I heard the announcer say last night that only one team has ever come back from starting out with 2 losses. If any team can do it I think the Cubs can, so I'm still staying hopeful.
It looks like the poor Brewers are struggling too.
