Took a look at my 13" TV monitor at last nights show, It's about 3 or 4 years old and getting kind of BEAT UP if you know what I mean. I started to look at 13"inch TV for a replacement ....They are HARD TO FIND and if you do the cheapest one I found was $115. I thought about just getting a FLAT SCREEN LCD but they are expensive and finding a GOOD KARAOKE stand for it is another expense.
Is it worth going to the LCD ? What will be your next MONITOR ?

I would love an LCD, but currently stick to just a regular TV. If I had the extra money, I would get one, but for karaoke I think a TV is good enough, especially with the wear and tear of it being in a bar and/or being moved around. Eventually I will get one, but it is further down in my list of future upgrades.

Im using a 15" tv It cost over 300 and i"m looking for a lcd monitor (no tuner) with video input. It seems the smallest one is 21" and about as expensive. Computer monitors are getting cheaper if there was just a affordable video to vga adapter. I'd like to put this one in my bedroom.
A couple of years ago I got a lcd stand on Ebay and havnt been able to find one like it since. It is like a karaoke stand where the height and tilt can be adjusted but has a vertical plate. I notched the plate on top and put 2 clips on the tv. They are tight so you have to pull the tv away from the plate to remove. I run the video and power cord up the hollow shaft.

You can find the 15" LCD monitors all over the place used:
http://computers.shop.ebay.com/items/_W ... sacat=3694
You can probably go to a local pawn shop and get one for $20.00 or so.

I actually have both and depending on where I am dictates which one I use. Outside it is always the 13" but anywhere else I use my 19 inch lcd monitor.

We have a 13-inch tv that we picked up at a pawnshop over two years ago for $20. The thing has fallen out of the back of the van onto the ground 4-5 times, it has been accidentally set on top of a speaker, and the thing still works great. Hard to imagine replacing something that is like the timex of tv's. We used to use a 20-inch tv set mounted in a hand-built wooden box - slanted back, sat on the ground, and nobody knew it was a tv monitor. Maybe eventually we'll upgrade to a flat screen setup but I'd rather buy music or more equipment before I replace my old timex tv.

I'm going with an acer 21 inch lcd monitor i got it at micro center on sale for under 200 dollars it is vga input only but no problem i can use my laptop and my players just got a composite to vga adpter works great. try checking on line for sales. as far as a stand get a flat panel wall mount and a good speaker stand brackets to adapt to the stand are easy to make using a flat piece of plywood for the wall half of the bracket and a length of pipe to fit over the pole and 3 pipe straps to fasten the pipe to the plywood Dave

My suggestion, for what it's worth:
1. Buy an lcd tv from ebay.
2. Get a HEAVY DUTY music stand from Guitar Center for $40. It has a removable top plate, and folding legs. Pretty sturdy for any tv up to about 19".
3. Drill 4 holes in the plate and bolt the tv to the plate (the tv will most likely have mounting holes already).
4. Buy a World Tour padded gig bag to fit the tv and plate from American Musical Supply. They have a large number of sizes to choose from.
5. Enjoy your new, portable tv and stand, with a set-up time of about 10 seconds.

Man, I recently bought one of those music stands for the music room where we (band) practice, and never even thought of using it for a portable karaoke TV stand.
Excellent idea.

I just use 13” color TVs for now that cost around $50/60 each. I do mostly private parties/picnics, most outdoors, and they’re simply more practical.
If I see any at a yard sale or flea market for cheap, I’ll probably get it.
I don’t think they’re available new anymore.

I use a 17" LCD and it works great for me. I tend to do gigs for baby boomers and they appreciate the large letters they can read. It's also lighter than the 13" TV I used to have. I just made my own stand that works great.

Hi everybody, I am looking for the best LCD monitor. I use AutoCAD Civil 3d software on a daily basis for my job. I mostly just do regular 2d drawings but on occasion I have to do a 3d view for a project. I need a good graphics LCD monitor that will work well with my job using CAD. What is the best Flat Panel LCD monitor for use with AutoCAD? Do you have any good suggestions?

Hello,
I use both a large screen tv and a lcd monitor at my shows. If you are looking for an LCD, there is a great deal ***RIGHT NOW**** at Dell. Only $99 for a 17" delivered. Nothing fancy, just perfect for Karaoke.

Master blaster does it have to be a tv? What about a flat panel computer monitor with a base on it?

You could probably use a flat panel computer monitor, but it would depend on how the base is attached. Those also usually don't have wall mounting holes either, but since the stand backplate has a 2" lip on the bottom, you may be able to just use heavy duty velcro.

The CRT computer monitors are a dime-a-dozen. Everybody has one laying around they are no longer using because they wanted a flat screen... I picked up a 19" CRT monitor locally for $10 and it works perfectly. If some drunk pisses on it or spills on it who cares... you can likely find somebody who would gladly give you another one to clear some space in their garage or closet.

If some drunk pisses on it? And I thought my gigs were wild!
