Babs, I gotta tell you I had to turn the television off after Lee booted the ball for the second error. I am and have been a die-in-the-wool Cub fan since the early 80's. I really thought that this was the year, in spite of Pinella (whose managing I can't seem to wrap my head around.) I even ordered Chicago Style dogs from Fluky's and had them shipped and delivered today so all of my fellow Cub fans in the area could enjoy them while we watched the Cubs sweep the dodgers saturday. Now, I don't even really want to watch the game. *sigh*
A good friend of mine said it best when he texted me "I feel like I'm watching a little league game". That's exactly what I felt like. Back to the Pinella thing...
DeRosa should never have been at second to begin with. he should have been in right where he's played the last two months and Fontenot should have been at second. Fukudome should be @ triple A Iowa watching the whole thing on TV and Micah Hoffpauir should be backing up DeRosa and Lee. UUGGGHHHHH!!! Sorry, but I got started and got on a roll. I'll shut up now!

I felt obligated to watch it to the end. Like the people at the game that felt obligated to stay and support them. Why I put myself through the torcher I don't know. I put the blanket over my head when Fukudome batted. I couldn't watch.

I don't blaim Fukudome. I blaim the person who made the decision not to put a pinch hitter in for him or play him at all. Aaaarg! Even after he struck out the first 2 times, swinging like a little leager, they let him bat a third time.

And what was with all the errors? I swear the golden glove award was the curse for Lee. Every infielder errored except the Soto.

I have to work tonight, so I am Tivoing the game. I'm only watching it when we win !
