this morning I packed my little rucksack with my swimming things and walked to the pool to do my rehab. Bad idea Vicki...saturday morning its learn to swim for brats
anyway I managed to find a lane that I could share with another older person such as myself and I spent 3/4 of an hour doing the exercises that the physiotherapist had set out for me.
So I am getting dressed in the changing rooms and in comes a woman with a toddler
she looks frazzled and the kid is being difficult and it falls over then proceeds to have a tantrum screaming and hitting and biting its mother.
So I let out one of my really scary growls which stopped the kid in its tracks
well the mother said "do you mind, I dont want you scaring my son" I said errr lady he was in your own words "biting mummy"
She said "he's not well" I said then why do you bring him to a public pool to spread his germs around
She said you'd better hope you are never sick at the hospital and I'm your nurse...I laughed and said if you are as good a nurse as you are a parent that should be fun
She rushed out behind me with the child under her arm to tell her husband.
I will at this stage say that this couple were english and what followed was nothing short of an example of football hooliganism
I was walking home and they followed me in the car hurling abuse. I wish I had thought to take the number plate of the car so as I could report them to the police and perhaps hinder their application for residency

Iv'e had my horror stories too but I'll tell you one just the opposite.. I was cruising past and looking down into store isles looking for something. Allof a sudden there is this little black kid about 4 with knickers and dressed like a little gentleman.

I thought ohoh this lil guys lost so I better help him. I walked over said something to him and he stared into my eyes for about 10 seconds then grabbed my hand and started leading me. At the end of the isle I spotted his mom and looked like her mom intently doing something on a shelf. As we approached I said is this little guy your's? They turned around and said oh my god! I didnt even know he was gone.

I thought well my deed is done but the little guy wouldnt let go. He looked up at his mom and announced "I Found Us A Daddy" For seconds I didnt know what to do and they didnt know what to do..With wet eyes I knelt and and put my arm around him and told him I couldnt be right then but he would soon have a Daddy. I stood up and we all shared an emotional giggle. I walked away and didnt dare look back..

This happened a few months after a gal run off with the only Son I ever fathered AS it turned out I never did know him... I sing This Time You Gave Me A Mountain with a Scottish brogue and cant get thru the second verse without crying.

I dont I will look into the kids eyes and shut them up in a heartbeat. I had a kid that tried to kick me in the shin. I told her in no certain terms You get him out of here and now. I will call 911 and have you i8n court for battery.

Another story Here we have small irrigation fishing lakes and we used to park close to the water and sit there fishing. Its like in the mountains you pitch a tent and that is your area just like your home. I had 3 rods perched on boxes and the monofilement lines tightly stretched going into the water. A couple of kids about 12 walked thru right into my lines. I was drinking beer. I came unglued and challenged them What in the F&&*k are you doing? They loooked at me like I was nuts I told them to get the F77k out of there... I'll go get my dad GO GET HIM!! He's got a gun.. I carried a loaded 44 magnum pistol in the seat pouch in the Powerwagon. I reached in and pointed it up in the air and Kaboom Kabboom. I dont know if you have heard a 44 mag by a lake but it is loud and echos a long way. So do I now you go get him. I didnt see them the rest of the day and nobody called the game warden either.

Hey Ollie, it's too bad that you don't have any grandchildren running around, as I know you you have a lot of stories to tell. Thats something I always adored as a child.

Wow! I thought this was going to be a Mac vs. Windows discussion and it is the biggest laugh I have had all day. And yes, a little bit scarey, too. Karaoker, usted debe escribir un libro!

My Grandpa's last name was MacRae and told us stories and gave us roots One was about the time he had a field of popcorn and pasture across the fence. In august it got so hot the corn started popping. The cows thought it was snowing and they froze to death. I could write post after post about his stories God I loved him..

Hey Ollie, I know I'm a big boy and all, but if you could see fit to do another boating story one day, that would be very cool. Remember the one you did where the boat was pitching violently, exposing the rudder, and......

What a story, Vick. I am so glad they weren't American. From what i here about British health care, it's probably a good thing you won't have her for a nurse. The word brat here is an awful widdle kid, but is also a tasty savory sausage very popular here in the Milwaukee area. The brat rhymes with trot. Short for bratwurst. I've experienced my own share of run ins with kids. I am a rather large man and I usually get the "Look at the fat arse, Mommy". I am not afraid to tell them i got that way from eating small children for breakfast, and let out a maniacal laugh. Mwahahahahaha!

I did spend a year or 2 at the helm on a light cruiser. Here is a shot from an old cruise book It is a smaller ship, tin can i think but when you look out the pilot house and see this you dont dare turn the rudder. It would respond very quick for it is partly out of the water. Not only that the screws are too the engines rev a little and when the bow comes back up they grab and the whole ship shudders. There is no grabass on the bridge and all are serious and back in port you have some mates. There is no experience like it ...

She looks like she's gonna stuff herself into the next wave, makes me think of the Fitzgerald. In any event, when I can no longer hold on to my beer, I'm headed for shore, for sure....... :)

lol love it!! well it appears that she is working in our local hospital and armed with that information I will be phoning the head of nursing tomorrow to tell her that her staff is using the Ashburton hospital as a threat. Lets see how she gets out of that :) There is no hope for the child when it has brats for parents

Morgan, I just want to applaud you for what you did.
I dont mind well-behaved children , (though a few hours is my maximum patience limit, wich is part of why I chose not to have any of my own)but I cannot stand having the not-so-well-behaved variety inflicted on people by inconsiderate 'parents' who dont deserve the title of parent. The threat that woman made is just unreal, but your reply made me laugh.

have been in contact with the director of nursing for the hospital today, she takes this very seriously. Obviously as I dont have a name, only a description its not exactly cut and dried and of course if the woman denies it, its her word against mine...but at least the hospital are aware of it
