First of all...........I am not "anti-cat" as I've had a few during my life.

One of the cats I had when I was a teenager was "Paco". His full name was "Ali Paco Farful Bear Hardesty". He was a cool fuggin cat, until he ended up being a Paco cookie on the road

I lived in a condo in Eastlake for a while and obviously couldnt have a dog. So I got a black cat and named him "DOG" His actual name was the letters...."Dee Oh Gee" but we just called him "DOG"

Dog was not a very friendly cat, infact I think he hated us! We bought a house near SDSU in 1994 and moved from Eastlake. When we moved to the new house in the college area, DOG disowned us and started living at our gay neighbors house. His new name was "Icess"........ Never liked that damn cat anyway!

We had another cat, named Harely Davidson Hardesty....now that cat was fuggin awesome!!!! There is a whole story about this cat and how he was shown on TV as the pet of the week in Sacramento, CA......We were up there at that time on vacation, saw the cat and loved him! Went to see him at the animal shelter.......Im kinda fuzzy on the rest of the details....some say there was some regulations saying we were gonna be put on waiting list, some say there was an issue because we lived out of county......some say the kitten was sneaked out of the sheltler.......I have no idea....not sure if I was even there.....

Anyhoo, Harley was a great cat. I dont even like cats much but he was fuggin cool. He would actually come to you when you called his name and wasnt like those other anti-human cats that just ignore you! Harley was more like a dog (not a cat named DOG I might ad) than a cat. He was a bitchen pet! Everybody loved Harley, he was just bad arse!

Harley's reign came to an end one morning when our neighbor ran him over and left his dead flat body in his driveway. Was a very very sad day for me and my wife. Ironically, "DOG" now "ICESS" lived right next door........I hate to say it but I wish they woulda ran "Icess" over and left our Harley alone.

Sooooooooooooo, after rambling you have learned that I have had a few cats in my lifetime. However I still think that "CAT PEOPLE" are insane. I dont think I have ever seen anybody who has owned or possessed over 4 cats at one time who is "sane".....Cat peeps are just fuggin weird........ If you have a bunch of cats in your house you are crazy.

Cat people are wierd!!

Dogs are a different story....and Im not talking about cats named "dog"!!!

Sooooo, are you a crazy cat havin cookstick?????

:withstupid:

JD this is fuggin delightful  I am not a cat person but I find myself kind enraptured with black cat (BC) who adopted us a week after our dog Murphy died.
She is very cool indeed apart from having shagged every tom in the neighbourhood and currently looking rather portly :?
Anyways BC is very much along a similar vein to your Harley

Harley was probablt reincarnated, and ended up in NZ.

As far as dog goes, no wonder he wasn't a happy camper, he didn't like his name!
We have a friend who also has horses, and she called in a professional pet psychic because her horse just wasn't acting right. I can't remember the horses name, but he had a rather feminine name. The psychic told our friend that the reason the horse was so hard to handle, was because of his feminine name. Our friend quickly changed the name of the animal, and paid the the psychic thinking all her problems were behind her. I still lmmfao over that one........Ron

well actually I named a horse sweet william...not cos he was a pansy but cos his name round the stables was bill and he was a maneater...when he arrived he would attack anyone who went into the field with him...then he discovered showjumping and more to the point showjumping with a crowd to cheer him on...he was such a showoff...and such a wimp...if a few spots of rain hit him without his cover he would rush off and attempt to throw it on himself. He loved cats and his eyes were slanted like a cat...maybe he had been one in a previous life...I loved that horse, he was a rebel just like me ;-) ohhhh and quick pic of Black Cat in teh little space in my desk where a scanner would normally sit

Vicki that is one adorable black cat. I'm a crazy cat lover myself, not that I have anything against dogs. But cats have been more condusive to my lifestyle. They are somewhat more independent and easier to keep. I'd LOVE to own a horse. I live in the country and I drive by stables of horses every day and wish I could take one and ride off into the sunset.

He's a beauty, Vicki! Is that you riding him?

Boatman ~ I had a cat that I mistakenly thought was a girl when he was tiny, we named him Ginger...later Maxwell. I swear he had gender issues for the rest of his life. He was such a sissy boy. I loved that sissy boy. He lived for 19 long years, we had to put him down last month. :(

JD ~ I would never question your love of the kitty. lol

Lucky you. What do you train them to do?

lordairgtar ~ I miss my cat too. :(

But I have two others, that's not quite 4 so I guess I'm not crazy yet, JD. Although some might disagree.

win races lol my best mare won 12 from 1100metres to 2500 meters
and she was even more of a character than Bill...actually called her cat lol Jendra was her race name and she was the best thing in the mud. she would run over middle distance 2000meters and beyond (1600 is a metric mile) and so long as it was wet you laughed all the way to the bank...then when she got up too high in the weights for the feature race of the day, I'd give her a week off and line her up in a sprint with a brand new apprentice on claiming the full allowance...so long as it was wet it didnt matter...when I retired her, I just couldnt go back to trying to rate ordinary horses that might win a race or two and getting old before my time...so I retired too.
But for the 3 seasons she raced I couldnt have asked for a better horse to have in my stable...she was a b i t c h just like her trainer and the more she kicked and bit and generally got nasty the better she was on the track. we adored each other and I let her away with being nasty cos it was so easy to rate her ability to win on her temper. She was the easiest horse in the world to train...new in from a spell she would eat everything...the closer to racing she got the more selective she became, wouldnt eat hay, etc...it meant that I could have her race fit for a sprint within 6 weeks of a spell and yet know I wouldnt flatten her...very very few horses as easy to train as her

Hey what's wrong with being a crazy cat lover ! LMAO

Did you think this thread would get by me.

My mother raised Saimese and Hymalayan cats when I was growing up. I come from a long line of (crazy)cat lovers. Cats are like people - so many different personalities. You can't judge all cats by one or two. Barn cats are different than house cats. In my experience barn cats are not as social or connected to people.

I have 2 hairless cats because I am allergic. I think more than 3 cats is pushing it unless you raise litters to sell. Like kids you need to take care of them. Not to mention keep your house clean and unsmelly. If you have 10 cats it would be a full time job keeping them and your house happy. I did know a very wealthy woman who did not work, had a beautiful large home with 6 cats and was able to pull it off.

Oh if you haven't guessed I'm a crazy cat person ! I had a cat named dog also. LMAO And if your cat doesn't come when you call them I'd say they were either stupid or snobby. :D

We have a couple of cats... barely older than kittens.

One is a typical medium hair tiger stripe named Angel. the Other one is the devil incarnate, an orange and white mix we appropriately named "Loki".

If you don't know the source of the name, look it up. Trust me, it fits the cat's personality to a T!

And I love him to death. Talk about personality! LOL!

Still, I think he truly thinks his name is "LOKI! GET OFF THE FUGGIN' COUNTER!"
