My friend has one. It seems to be alright. I personally use CAVS, the 203-G USB. It also plays most every format available, and supports external disc and such through the USB port. You can pick them up for $250 out the door at most places that sell them. Instead of the NEO-6 format, it reads Super CD+G's. I have almost all of the Super CD+G's made, so I have to have at least one CAVS. I don't have any NEO-6 disc.

i am interested in this unit because i have music on discs and would like to move them to external hard drive. this is also for the house where the kids could watch dvds. i use my laptop for other uses and only use it to burn discs using the power cdg program. my thought is to load the music on external hard drive this way it might speed up the loading process so i dont have to keep changing out discs when the process is finalized.
not sure if this is a quality machine or if this is possible with this equipment. guess i want my cake and hopefully eat it to not just look at it.
any ideas on this
and thanks for the other responses.

Ms. Morgan,

I've been experimenting with the CAVS 203G, 105G USB lately. I've created an intentional error that causes it not to play certain Tracks.

Would you mind telling me which SCDG Disc your having problems with?
Or is it a Custom Compilation?

Kind Regards,

Morgan, are you sure you have a new 203G USB or just an older 203G? I have an older 203G and it does have problems with disc with large numbers of songs. It also hissed a bit when playing DivX disc.

I have a new 203G-USB and both of these problems are fixed. The largest manufacturer disc's sold have 1,234 songs on a disc, and the player has no problem playing these disc. I am betting that if you really have a 203G USB and are haveing problems, I would bet you are trying to play disc you made yourself. Maybe a problem with you converting the songs to Super CD+G format, or maybe you should just make sure you don't go over 1,234 songs. If you are you must be compressing the hell out of the songs.

You are right, the CAVS does take almost 10 seconds to load, and this would certainly be a problem if you were trying to run a show on one drive, which would be crazy. I have 2 Cavs and 1 regular JVC player. What is 10 seconds, when you have the whole song currently playing to cue the next song? The JVC is ready in under 2 seconds from loading the disc, so I use that a lot for regular CD+G's.

Felix the KJ ,

If your ever take a moment and learn how to created a custom SCDG disc with a "Certain Program'... Efficiently utilizing the DAT Files and Maximizing the space
on a Dual Layer DVD... Creating a Custom SCDG with 1,500 Tracks... PIECE OF CAKE!
ABSOLUTELY NOTHING IS SUPER COMPRESSED!

I've created Dozens of Custom SCDG disc's containing OVER 1,500 Tracks.
One of my SCDG discs contain 1,700 +. And I Still have room for a little more.

As I've purchased several commercial SCDG Disc, i.e. Nutech vol. 1, 2, and 3,
which contain 1,234 Songs each. This Is The Limit The Manufacture Sells You.

From experimenting I've learned:
* THE CAVS 203 is limited to the Amount Of Tracks Displayed On Screen from a SCDG Disc or USB Folder Containing DAT Files.
My Disc with 1,500 Tracks Will Not Play The Higher Numbered Tracks.

* If a Custom SCDG Disc Contains Non-ASCII Characters... Meaning if One of the tracks contains Foreign Accents!
The CAVS Player Goes Bonkers! Simply Remove the Accents and POOF! IT PLAYS ALL OF THEM! Within It's Limit!

That's why I asked Ms. Morgan was the disc Commercial or Custom.

To Bypass the CAVS 203 Limitations...
I put 50,000 Tracks into One Folder on an External Drive!
Format: INX Menu - mcg.mp3
No Songbook Need

Kind Regard,
sw00000p

Both Problems Fixed? BOLONGA! I have an Older CAVS 203G and a new 105 USB.
The Limit Is Still There!

TIP On Saving Money:
The only difference between the 203G USB and 105G USB...
The 203G has More Buttons to push. I use the Remote and save $50.00.

Is there some way to change your remote's channel? I have 2 203G's and one remote works on both. Even if you are careful, putting the remote right on the sensor, you can be trying to operate one of them, and it will accidentally change the other. After doing that a couple of times, I only use the buttons now. So those buttons are well worth $50. If there is some way to make them work on different channels, I would certainly apreciate the information.

Why in the world would you run two of 'Em at the same time? Is it because the CAVS players are so0o0 SLOW?

There's no way I'd stand next to that player and constantly adjust the various controlls for each song!

If you change the channel... You have to also Tune the receiver inside the unit.
Don't see that being economical.

purchased the rsq nk2000u and i am very pleased with the features they also threw in a neo-g disk with 500 songs and acesonic vhf 8000 wireless mics in for free i am very suprised by the sound quality of these mics. i dont think however that they will be able to hold up to long term use. but you cant beat the price. the rsq site has a program and directions so i can burn all the other disks to this format which i like, and this program is free from rsq on their web site. this should cut down on amount of disks carried around.

IF you burn all the other disks to this format which you like, NEO+G...
Can you convert them back to their original format? Ummm...

If your player goes down during a show with only NEO+G tracks available...
how would you continue? Do you have another NEO+G player? Ummm...

Hope Your Player Never Goes Down!
