Last night my wife and I were watching TV, and there were two movies on that had Karaoke scenes, "rising sun", and "the cable guy" which I found hilarious. Does anyone know of any others?.......Ron

The Forty Year Old Virgin has a funny karaoke scene. One of the "Rush Hour" movies has a really funny karaoke scene. I also think the movie with Bill Murray and Scarlett Johanson has a karaoke scene in it. I can't think of the name of the movie off hand. Rudy.

The movie with Bill Murray and Scarlett Johanson is 'Lost in Translation'... a very good movie that takes place in Japan where karaoke is a big part of the culture. Also, one of my favorite karaoke movies is 'Duets' with Huey Lewis and Gweneth Paltrow.

'My Best Friends Wedding' had a good karaoke scene with Cameron Diaz murdering Dionne Warwick's ''I Just Don't Know What to Do With Myself''

Oh man, I laughed so hard when Jim Carey did Grace Slick...that was hilarious !

Not in the movies, but Smallville had a hysterical moment when a 20 yr old Lois Lane and her cousin Chloe were singing "I Love Rock n Roll".

A beautiful film that moves me every time I watch it. And every single scene looks like a work of art!

Since I'm off this week, this is enough to make me head to the video store...

After watching hours of the post election stuff last night until I couldn't take it anymore, I started switching channels, and just about the first movie I turned to was "duets". Really good movie, I thought, but I loved that version of "just my imagination", hope I can find it for my I-pod....Ron

There's a scene in Carrier (the 10 hour PBS documentary about life aboard the aircraft carrier Nimitz) involving karaoke. Made me think of Flipper (Scott) who does this sort of thing... provide karaoke for sailors. It's not movie made-up though. It's the real thing like we all do.

Sounds interesting Bill, and a wonderful form of entertainment for the sailers. And who knows, since I have several days of my vacation left I might just find it this week as I am getting reacquainted with my remote control.....Ron...

I'm warning you... don't get started on Carrier unless you've got 10 hours of your life to give up! It'll suck you in and you'll end up watching the whole thing. I was just going to do a little grazing with this one but no....

That did it....now I'll really be watching for it.

There's a spot on Undercover Brother when a Eddie Griffin and Denise Richards sing Ebony & Ivory

I think the movies called Jackpot, but its about a guy who wants to be a singer enters karaoke contests. The funny part is that he has a manager who locks the restroom since its the guys dressing room until the host calls his name. Garrett Morris is in it I think.

Not a movie, but on Monday night's episode of "How I Met Your Mother", Barney Simpson sings karaoke.

At the end of the movie "Shrek" (2001) there is a segment titled Shrek In The Swamp Karaoke Dance Party which is very entertaining:
