I have a few "Essential" discs - these are not charbuster. I'd have to look and see where they originate but they have a large "E" on them. Great tracks.

The db in CDG Ripper indicates 32 disk under Essential Karaoke and I did used one of their track to record this song:
We Are The Champions

I agree, they do have some nice backing but also some bad ones that really sounds midi.
Now of course you can get the real backing from Queen on a Walt Disney disk, but it wasn't available at the time I recorded this

Yeah i'm wondering if that is what he is thinking of? Chartbuster had an entire line named Essential Karaoke. Wasn't that "Charbuster Essentials Packs"? That is their equivalent of the SoundChoice Foundation and Bricks. I bought the 60s and the 70s essentials packs (CBEP4XX on the disk code) as some of my first purchases after I started out with SuperCore. Yea, there's the Charbusters Essential packs, like volumes 1-7. Not bad stuff, but for the more discerning singers, the SC Foundations are preferred by my singers.
Oh, for 70s rock that is a no-brainer. The SC stuff is better.
But if you try the 60s CB essentials pack, I think you will find there are a lot of tracks where Chartbuster is better. At least the ones I have seen and sang -- Cracklin' Rosie, Groovin', Kind Of A Drag, Daydream Believer. All really good, and two of those tracks on SC the dog must have dragged in....

Essential Karaoke is an old company based in the UK. They changed their name a few years ago to Easy Karaoke when new management took over, and still trade under that name. The old stuff made originally under the Essential Karaoke brand was very good, but there stuff has only got worse since changing their name. All the old Essential Karaoke discs have been remastered & rebranded as Easy Karaoke but the audio is still the same, all the discs are available here. I think EZC01 to about EZC050 are all rebranded original Essential Discs.

I really like the way you sung that. You didn't try and sound like the original. You used your own good voice to do it.

Regarding "I Wish It Would Rain" by the Temptations, that is included on one of the Motown Originals discs. It's the original backing music with only the lead vocal stripped out. Can't get much better than that.

Thanks Jerry. Motown Originals from which manufacturer? Essential Karaoke?
