Make your life easier, lighter and simpler. Use a laptop.
If you watch www.deals2buy.com, you can find some very good deals.
When you're ready to start up for the night just open up your laptop and turn it on.
Much simpler and much less bulky than a tower. Once you go laptop you won't go back.
Eventually almost ALL PCs will be laptops. I've been building my own PCs for around 10
years. All future computers will be laptops for me.
I just bought a very nice Acer with a 15" screen for my daughter for $399+tax
and it's fabulous. Works GREAT! I will get another ACER when the time comes.

maybe I'm too old school, but I LOVE my towers or minis... just room for growth, swapping power, cards, devices is easier. Troubleshooting (FOR ME) is easy with it.

I'd NEVER support a laptop. Unless you have another as a backup unit in case of failure.

Me, I'd rather be able to fix the problem than swap a whole computer over!

Hey Oldskool is GREAT if you know what you're doing!

I'm thinking of going lappy soon after reading so much about compuhost here, and the fact of laptops only costing $500 ,i guess with my inexperience, i'd rather replace one and have a backup on hand with me, instead of trying to troubleshoot one while a show was going on.

I do admire tech-knowledge peeps for their patience in computers. I used to have that kind of patience but only for cars and women, lol.

I'd rather just "pay-as-i-go" and avoid stress since they're cheap equipment. I saw a new dell inspirion on msn dot com for $499. -don't have experience with Acer, but will look into it. Tax deductions are great!

Acer's quality has improved tenfold over the last 2 years--late spring/early summer they purchased Gateway so expect their quality to improve even more.

Make sure you have enough ram. They suggest 1 to 2 gigs of ram for Compuhost. I run it on less but my experience may not be the norm.

I have an Acer Extensa--it has 3gb RAM and a 250gb hard drive, more than capable enough to run Compuhost

MOst of the new Acers have more than enough specs that will handle CompuHost.
