Check out the following for QSC speakers. Someone previously posted this link last week. Hope this helps
http://www.qscaudio.com/rebate/rebate_10-2008.htm
Also, my partner tells me Sam Ash offers some type of "discount" on purchases to professionals who help promote the Sam Ash name. You might want to ask Ash for the details?

For ambient effects, I'll put a plug in for the T.C. Electronic M One. I've had a lot of boxes over the years. This one not only sounds great, but unlike all my others has a front panel interface that's so dead easy to figure out that you never need to crack the manual if you want to go beyond the presets.
Other pluses about this box:
Internal power supply (hate wall warts).
Dual configuration mode (also dead easy to set up), so you can set up echo and reverb independently from each other if you have two aux sends on each mic channel.
There is no single best choice so I'm just giving this as one very good choice not to be overlooked. I picked mine up on eBay for around $225 if I remember right.

The Lexicon MX200 is a great little unit. It's a dual processor so you can layer two completely different effects together. As for the mixer part, if you can swing the 1620, you will not be disappointed. The eq section for the mics are killer - 4 band with sweepable low/mid AND sweepable high/mid. Plus 2 effects send so you could set up the Lexicon properly, run the return back into 2 channels (instead of the effects return) for more flexability. The little built in mini meter bridge is pretty handy as well. You can actually monitor how hot the signal is instead of waiting for a little clip light to light when the signal gets too hot.

Sorry to about your loss, hope S.O.Bs are caught.
Just an idea, run the larger round trailer wireing harness plug, use a female plug mounted on the inside of your trailer(not accessable to the outside) with a harness with two male plugs to go from vehicle to female plug in trailer. You would have to have a hole (approx 1 inch) for the plug to fit threw,I'm sure they make a rubber plug for the hole when not in use.
Keep the male & male harness in the house.
This would leave theives with the choice of towing a stolen tailer at 3am with no lights(which a cop would notice) or leave it alone.
Also don't leave your license plate on and take the standard mounting bracket and fill those holes(JB weld) and drill your plate and mt. bracket custom so theives can't just bolt on another trailer plate.keep the new holes a small diameter so the holes not big and any bolt will fit, and don,t leave the bolts in the mt bracket when the plate is off.
When you do get another trailer they make tongue locks, which I'm sure you know but what people don't usually notice is the tongue is bolted on with four bolts.Which with todays battery powered tools takes only minutes to change tongues (make the lock useless).Take the trailer to a welding shop and have it welded on.If the tongue is steel and the trailer is aluminum you can't weld the tongue to the trailer but you can have the nuts welded to the bolts that hold the tongue on.

Thank you all for your tips.
Scorpion: I heard that too, that tongue locks are pretty much useless. I will definitely go with a high quality wheel lock and a GPS Unit, to locate the trailer in case of theft. I found a service, that is only $20/month, has a tracking history of 3 months and can be set to give you an immediate phone call, in case the trailer is moved during configure able times. It also offers web access 24/7 to locate your vehicle anytime.
Next time, I WILL get those SOBs, trust me.

Do you have a picture of the trailer? If so, post it. I'll alert every DJ and KJ I know in Broward to be on the lookout for the trailer and/or the rack that you already posted piectures of!
And how about a list of the missing gear, as well?

Hey Sev, thanks for the heads-up on the GPS deal. I have a 14-foot trailer FULL of equipment that sits in my driveway most of the time (not karaoke equipment) and though we are in what is considered a very safe area, I have wondered about what I need to do to secure it better. We keep very odd hours so even if someone tried to case it, they'd have a difficult time! I will look into the GPS deal, though. Sounds like a great solution.
Scorp: Great idea on the plate deal, and the harness.

I have a wheel lock/boot on my boat trailer that works really really well for minimum $$. It is the same idea as "the club," but for your trailer wheel.
If someone wanted to steal your trailer, it would either take them 15-20 minutes to hacksaw the lock, or they would lose a wheel if they tried to tow the trailer. Either way, it would draw serious attention to them and would therefore be a serious deterrent in the first place.
I have accidentally forgotten to take the boot off before I towed my boat, and it is litterally impossible to go more than a few feet with it on without losing a wheel.
This $70 investment would have probably prevented your theft!!

Thanks Topher. I was looking at that particular wheel lock already. I still trying to decide between that device, and this here:

Another equipment question:
A while ago I found a thread here in the forums about Speaker Stands, with which you can easily raise and lower the stands with the speaker already mounted. Some kind of pneumatic/mechanical solution.
I searched the forums but can't find that posting anywhere. I also searched on Google and ebay, but all I came up with was the pneumatic stand, when you lower the stand, NOT raise it. Does anyone have an idea, which brand those are? Or even better, has a model number?

Question -- where was the trailer stolen from, and what time? Was it on the street? Parked outside your place?
The reason I ask is that I am looking at getting a trailer. I am probably going to store it inside a garage, and in general theft is not as big a problem here as in your area. But it is nice to know more information....

It was stolen right in front of Little Munich. I left it there over night, thinking I'm playing there the next night anyway. It was attached to my car and locked.
After the theft I found out, that the lock I used was not sufficient what so ever. A very expensive lesson.
Anyway, I just got my first piece on ebay: QSC PLX3602 for whooping $850 incl. shipping. So far, so good...

A cautionary note, to be sure. I was thinking just tonight about letting one of my guys use my old car to store some gear, but now I don't think I will, as he lives in a town. Quote: Anyway, I just got my first piece on ebay: QSC PLX3602 for whooping $850 incl. shipping. So far, so good...
Yup, and since you have the DriveRack you won't need EQ or sonic enhancer either. I see six rack spaces and your mixer -- two for amp, one for DriveRack, one for MX200 or whatever you choose, and one each for mic receivers and power conditioner.
To begin with, you could use a wired mic for DJ/second mic if you are looking for a way to economize until you build back up.
I am getting ready to try and figure out how I can get the audiopile.net version of your previous Odyssey. It is about what yours was, but needs to be shipped. It will cost about $520.

ok servian didn't say it , but ... If youve ever had a pair of sx500s you will not want anything else.(imo) sx500s on a good quality system are the best sounding speakers ever!
Oddly enough when I bought mine on ebay 3 years ago they came to wisconsin from florida. A Buddy of mine got a new set a year or so ago from Full compass music in Midleton WI. He paid like 1200 for the pair. http://www.fullcompass.com/ . I think that was the sx500+. when I bought mine I should have gone there but they were getting like 850 each on ebay at the time so I never called or went in to see what they would do.
Im thinking that when I go to a rack mounted mixer I will get the mackie onyx and a 2 channel lexicon rather than one of the boards with dual built in efx. at present I own 2 powered mackie mixers. I like em, but neither has enough power for the sx500s.

The clear and crisp sound is almost unnaturally good. The same with the bass punch. After using those, I would never settle for less.
Today I'm trying to get the DBX 1046. Wish me luck.

Just a small update. This is what I got so far:
1 QSC PLX3602 Amp
2 Ultimate Support TS90 Speaker Stands with bag (thanks Morgan)
1 GPS Tracker, without monthly fees. Runs with a prepaid SIM card
1 15-Minute Charger with 4 NIMH AA Batteries
1 12-pack of 3' color coded XLR Cables
1 25' Microphone Cable
2 50' 12 gauge Speakon Speaker Cables
1 3U Rack Drawer Unit
1 4U Rack Drawer Unit
1 LCD Monitor Stand
1 Odyssey FZ1116WDLX Rack
1 SM58
1 DBX DriveRack PA
Tomorrow I'm going to order 1 x Wheel Lock, 1 x Trailer Tongue Lock (and locks for the doors), 2 x EV Sx500+ Speakers and 1 x OnStage MS7625PG Microphone Stand. Tuesday I will order the Mackie ONYX 1620 (plus Rack Mount Kit), 2 x SLX24/B58, 1 x Lexicon MX300, 1 x Furman PL-Plus II and a Live Wire 4 Channel Insert Snake.
Still waiting for a good opportunity for the DBX 1046 and a cheap 17-19 inch LCD TV on ebay. But I'm sure, I will get one sooner or later this week.
Have I forgotten anything? My head is smoking at the moment...
The only thing that gives me big headaches is: If I go ahead and buy a new/used trailer now and they happen to find my old one, I'm going to be stuck with an extra trailer.
I will probably try to make a deal with an used trailer dealership, so I can rent a trailer for a month or two. And if my old trailer really doesn't show up anymore, maybe they can deduct the rental fee from the purchase price.
So wish me luck. If everything works out, I might do my first show with my new/old setup on Sunday. I'm still mad as hell though...
