I need help in creating an EXCEL List of Karaoke CD+G Discs that I have: Prefered order: song name/artist/track #, Disc name.

Does anyone have a fast way to do this and send it to me in EXCEL. I was able to create the list in PDF but can't get it to convert to EXCEL due to the programs block.

try airwer, or go to a karaoke online retailer, something like karaoke warehoue. They have the online listings.

KJPro.com/browse has them, and you can usually cut and paste.

Can anyone help me with all or part of the list by putting it into an EXCEL format and email that to me. The discs only come with a PDF version (the print is small and hard to read), it won't let me change it to EXCEL.

I also don't want to to use a pay for site since money is tight right now.

Then use Freedb. Search for your discs & copy them into Excel!

I'd offer to send you my list (also done in Microsoft Excel), but I only have 4 BackStage discs and none of the CBs that you mentioned.

Find a Karaoke friend who uses KJ Pro. Have them create a custom songbook with those discs, click "export to Excel" and shoot it to you...

Almost all of us have hand typed in our books, unless you want to pay for the big songbook softwares.

But, let me reiterate...

Go to http://kjpro.com/browse

Type in the first disc in the Disc # field. 2717

Hit Search.

It pulls up the Backstage disc BS2717, click that.

It pulls up a table of the songs. Merely highlight the song title and the artist one at a time and post them into yuor excel sheet. (It will copy the hyperlink, so you may have to paste that first into your START -> RUN option, then cut that and paste it into your excel sheet.)

Another option is Airwer. You can do 30 discs at a time totally free. Export them to excel.

Another is to check the online karaoke retailers.
http://www.acekaraoke.com/backstagecdg0.html

You can copy all four columns of the first disc BS2717 (start with the end of track 12 and left-click your mouse and scroll up and copy all the four columns), and then copy that into Excel. You'll have to manually delete each of the preview icons and then delete that first column, but it's there!

I also did a google search, and someone's got an okay excel sheet up. It's got some of your discs.
www.mtrdjs.com/Karaokemasterbook1.xls

You'll have to sort it by Disc Number (highlight the whole thing, and click on DATA and then SORT. Click the No HEADER ROW option, and then sort with column C as your first sorting. Not all your discs are there, but some of them are. You'll have to add a fourth column for track number. Or change the third column to reflect discnumber and track number.

I have noticed that for a few of the databases and many of the advertisements of CDs the track order is re-aranged.

Be careful when cuttng and pasting names into your ripping software for converting to MP3.

In general it is rare that the tracks are different just the order is VERY often wrong based on the track listing that can be found either in the databases or in the advertisments.

I think that it is a combination of the companies making multiple versions and also intentional scrambleing at some stages by the database resources in terms of what they provide for free.

Alot of the retailers - even some of the online databases are sorted alphabetically, but once you get the names in Excel you can manually add the track #'s.
I also typed out my book manually, was a one finger typer hunt/peck when I started, now can type about 55 wpm maybe more, this was a couple years ago.
