Clarification, the mic cord has the xlr connection. So the corded mic is all I would need the monster cables for?

I'm not familiar with connectors but my monitor was able to plug right into my lap top. It has the small connector that still has to be screwed in on the outside on each end. I would definitely need some type of adapter as I can currently only get the monitor about 2.5 feet from my laptop. What kind of connector is this called? Then I assume my transmitters for the wireless mics would just plug into the mixer? And the speakers into the mixer? Do speakers still use the old type of speaker wires or do they plug in now?

I believe Lonman was refering to connecting between your mixer and speakers.

Ok, I now know the connector coming out of the computer monitor is a vga. Do they make adapters for these?

Yes there are several that will work. Your laptop does not have an S-video or composite (RCA) out? An S-Video out looks a lot like a mouse input. Only it has a monitor symbol below it.

Then you want to get a convertor for S-Video to RCA for the laptop and connect that to your singer's TV.

Remember Watts are usually spec'd in RMS and they usually are rated at 4 or 8 ohms. The watts in peak voltage are about twice the RMS. Check the specs for peak, RMS and the ohm load so they match your speakers. If it's rated at 8 ohms then a 4 ohm load will be double the rated wattage. Although, some amps only go down to a certain ohm load and some you can't bridge the channels for a subwoofer. A compressor or limiter will reduce the peak wattage but will increase the RMS. Be careful. I would suggest a class-d type amp with a switching power supply if you can find one. They run run much cooler and more efficient. Your club owner will pay less on electricity.

Danny, where's the best place to get these? On line or radio shack or where?

Use a subwoofer for volume and a feww hundred watts per channel on the higher ends.
If you can find a class d amp for the subwoofer it would be great on lessening the power consumption.

Not sure where that came from JD? Are you looking at the system that I put together and offering advice and making it sound better?

I feel better, I wondered what I was missing.

So Lon, I bought my set up, mostly from your advice. Where to get speaker stands that will work with my B215As at the most affordable price?

Radio Shack has a simple, but good working converter:

I use it with a RCA Y-adapter, so I can go to 2 different screens:

I just responded to your initial question on how many watts. Other people may find it useful. And yes I am trying to help improve sound for karaoke. Since I visit venues regularly, large and small, in one of the nations densly populated areas. Most have very bad quality sound. I hear from digital noise to thd harmonic distortion to bad mixes and you name it.

Sevarin, I'm bit confused, how will that convert to the vga on my tv? By the way, I have a Shure l4 transmitter with a female out, What do I need to hook this into my Yamaha MG124CX mixer?

If you only have a VGA Input, it's not a TV, but a computer monitor.

If your laptop supports Dual Screens with the VGA Output, you only need a VGA cable to the screen. In that case, you won't have a second output for a audience TV though.

If you want a second output, and just to be on the sure side regarding the Dual screen issue, I would go with an adapter like that and use the S-Video out:

Yes, it is a 15" flat panel monitor from my last desktop. The only guy I've ever seen use a screen for the audience to follow the words on was hooking up wirelessly to the bars 2 large plasma tvs on the walls. What connectors would I need IF I had a second monitor?

How's your outfit coming? Have you purchased anything yet Sevarin?

I believe you can either connect via the 1/4 jack or the female xlr jack.
got that info from the manual. http://www.behringerdownload.de/B212A_B ... _Rev.4.pdf

Not sure what you mean 'no speaker connectors'? It hooks up from your mixer via that XLR jack - standard mic cord (best connection) or the balanced TRS 1/4" jack. DO NOT hook this powered speaker into an amplified source if that is what you are looking for. These speakers HAVE the amp built in.
If you do not have your mixer yet, then you can plug a mic directly to them to test.
