It looks like Kanye's new album is going to be pop music. See the Telegraph article:

http://www.telegraph.co.uk/arts/main.jh ... nye121.xml

Quote:
"Taking a sample, looping it and doing all that 'throw your hands up in the sky' thing has become such a cliché. Hip-hop is over for me. I sing, not rap, on this album. I now want to be grouped among those musicians you see in those old black and white photos - the Rolling Stones, Jimi Hendrix, the Beatles. And I'm not going to get there by doing just another rap album full of samples. I've had to create a whole new musical genre to describe what I'm doing now and I'm calling it 'pop-art' - which is not to be confused with the visual art movement. I realise that my place and position in history is that I will go down as the voice of a generation."

This is good news to my ears. I think pop music has declined in quality recently, and I'm looking forward to new songs with strong melodies and creative lyrics. I hope this signifies a resurgence good pop music.

He's an OK artist, but I sure don't consider him a spokesman for my generation! LOL

Kidding me right? He got big off Jay-Z's coat tails, has a distinct chip on his shoulder, and isn't really all that talented.

Is Kanye still in New Orleans swinging a hammer to rebuild it or was that just another photo op for him to make himself look like an (@$%&#!) by opening his mouth?

I find his tunes catchy and I hate to say that because I don't like much of anything he has to say about anything. Hey Kanye, how about you just make music and stay away from the open mic. When you deserve an award, you will get it....but you shouldn't (@$%&#!) when you don't. If you are as good as Elvis, we will let you know...youdon't need to tell us that you are. If you want to be a politician....run for it and see how much people love you. Otherwise, go back under that rock you came from.

Just my humble opinion.

Unfortunately I don't know that will be the case. Obama may not be black enough for Kanye.

By the way, when Iowa got hammered by flooding this year with the mighty Mississippi River flooding, how come I didn't see Kanye out there with a bucket and sand bags. For that matter, how come I barely even heard about it? No celebrities, no president, no real news coverage....nothing. I guess nobody likes white people. What happened in New Orleans is a real tragedy, but for all of these damn celebs it is just a photo op. The whole coast got hammered, but only New Orleans was the focus. Guess what Kanye....New Orleans is still a giant garbage dump of destruction. Yeah, the party areas are back up and running, but where are you rebuilding the real city....the part where the people live, not where the tourists spend money? If you want to open your mouth Kanye, follow up and show us how to do it. Get that white sportcoat dirty.
