Actually, Keep the $100 and let the bar owner keep $1 per song....

the owner is still ahead at $50 for the booze and $100 for rent....

There is a place in Wisconsin Dells that has pay as you go karaoke, and the place is always packed.

Fred......As for "Enticing us Pros"......I charge the bar a percentage of the takings ......thats using the Bar's equipment (If I used my own I would charge more)..So,the more punters I bring in,the more I earn.The guy before me charged a flat fee...but ended up singing to himself!....Offer that deal to your Bar..see what they say

Fred again I am confused...I would have thought if you were just a karaoke singer and you couldnt get satisfaction, starting your own would only add to the frustrations...becos if you are doing it right you would hardly get time to sing at any time during a gig

That entered my mind also. I just figured if he wasn't getting paid he probably sang once a rotation. I would think he probably thinks he deserves to get something out of working for free.
