Now that Thanksgiving is approaching, I thought of one of more classical moments on TV that was one of the funniest ever. The show was WKRP in Cincinnati and the episode was about Turkey give away episode. Those who knows the show probably know what I am talking about.
The basic premise of the episode was that Herb, the account executive who is a bit dense, decided to do a promotion at the local mall. He told everyone that it's a turkey give away but was very secretive about the details. Basically he flew over the mall in a helicopter and threw out the live turkeys because he thought turkeys can fly. As turkey is dropping like a lead all over, Les, the reporter, described in detail of what is going on while they showed one of the DJs with a look that made me laugh through the whole show. The classical moment was when Herb comes in to the studio, looking disheveled, and he says, I thought they could fly. That was classic.
Can anyone think of the funniest moment on either a film or on a TV show? I have a few but I will wait until a few people contributed.

Eben, for me some of TV's funniest moments occurred during the Carol Burnett show. When she's coming down the stairs with a curtain rod on her shoulder in a " Gone with the Wind " skit, it is golden. I also remember Jim Nabors and Sammy Davis Jr. in a " Kung Fu " skit and Sammy is doing some trick gun handling and right afterwards Jim going " GOLLLLEE! " ala Gomer Pyle.
Tim Conway's old man character had some comedy gold moments also that are too numerous to mention. I think I am showing my age here! Rudy.

I agree that Carol Burnett show was classic. So many good moments to mention. My favorites when Tim Conway make everyone break out in laughter so the skit comes to complete halt. It was taped in front of a live audience so often they didn't even bother cutting out the bloopers.
Another show I enjoyed, Cheer. Here is one quote from Cliff, the smartest man alive mailman, talks about alcohol and the brain cells.
Cliff: Well ya see, Norm, it's like this. A herd of buffalo can only move as fast as the slowest buffalo. And when the herd is hunted, it is the slowest and weakest ones at the back that are killed first. This natural selection is good for the herd as a whole, because the general speed and health of the whole group keeps improving by the regular killing of the weakest members. In much the same way, the human brain can only operate as fast as the slowest brain cells. Excessive intake of alcohol, as we know, kills brain cells. But naturally, it attacks the slowest and weakest brain cells first. In this way, regular consumption of beer eliminates the weaker brain cells, making the brain a faster and more efficient machine. That's why you always feel smarter after a few beers.

Eben, I think the episode with Cliff wearing that shock collar almost brought me to tears, I still smirk when I think of the look on his face whenever they jolted him. Of course who can forget the " Kelly Kelly Kelly Kelly " song. Wasn't that funny at first, but as he kept on it just got funnier and funnier.
Jerry Lewis's air typing routine was funny but also innovative for it's time. I don't quite remember the movie it was from. Who's minding the Store, that might have been it. Rudy.

that WKRP In Cincinnati episode was an all time classic!
West Wing had a good episode where President Barlett was convinced by C.J. Craig that he needed to pardon a 2nd turkey, because CJ just couldn't bring herself to condemn the 2nd one to a feast. Martin Sheen's performance in that was just brilliant as he was telling the kid that he needed to get an education as the PODUS couldn't pardon a turkey, but instead, he drafted it!

Donna is hysterical...
"You can't pardon a turkey?"

Hope I'm not too late with this reply. My favorite is from Taxi. I remember watching this, laughing uncontrollably while simultaneously being in awe of Christopher Lloyd's incredible timing and delivery.

I remember that episode so well. I was laughing so hard, I fell off the couch as I was watching it.
A good one.

Or Doc in Back to the Future series. He was brilliant in those movies also.
