Based on a recent discussion here where the Karma software was mentioned I decided to go to the Latshaw website and take another look. I have to say it looks good. Despite problems a couple of months ago that some of us had with the "Beta" version, I'd be willing to give it another try.

I was disappointed that it didn't have tempo change, but I know that's not a feature that most people want or need. I need it for myself, but that's for my singing shows that I do.

I also took a look at the Karaoke song book software and I believe I'm going to buy it. It looks exactly like what I want with the artist main heading and then all of the songs listed below. I've put off buying book software for a long time, but I need to make books and have them ready for when I start marketing my services which is very soon.

The only other book software I'm considering is the one from Compuhost.

If you go with LAtshaw's songbook save it to PDF and have the place you make copies print it as it will use a lot of black ink. I much prefer Fast Tracks over Songlist Generator for that very reason.

was thinking about buying a laser printer that has duplex printing and doing it myself. Might be more of an investment up front but I think in the long run it could save me some money. I haven't decided yet. I need to decide soon though.

I'm was long time user of Bob Latshaw's Products. Over the years, with Many Upgrades, I had the unfortunate experience of my Grandmother passing away.
So I went back home, Texas, and said goodbye to Grandma!

Returning home a month later, I had a Email from Bob Latshaw stating, "KJ File Manager has been revised with major features added. Existing customers get a free upgrade... FOR 2 WEEKS ONLY! After that Full Price.
Ofcourse being away for a month, I missed out!

Stogie your buying a BUG ridden piece of ...
Bob Latshaw is GREEDY! I'll Never buy anything from the CROOK again!

swoop --Sorry to hear about your loss ..But it doesn't seem quite fair to blame the software developer for you not being able to make the deadline.

I also purchased over the years the songbook and file management software and believe it is 1st class stuff for KJ's. Just recently purchased KARMA..(thru PCDJ) and had the opportunity to use it at Saturdays show. Besides tweaking my files names and a question concerning an autoplay feature for fille music. I would say it's another GREAT product geared to KARAOKE.

Great Search Feature: Just type and it will bring up all matches
Great Rotation Playlist - keeps the rotation constant even as you laod up 1 singer with requests.
Keeps a singer history
Shows singer cue on 2nd screen
all the other basics ...key changer / tempo changer / fades in an out / etc

Let me get this straight...

a LONG TIME user... and the man is greedy? You turned on him that quickly?

Did you pay for anything during that long term process?

Not defending the man for not granting you the month's grace period... but I'll admit that a full month is a bit excessive to be granted time away for ANY form of bereavement leave of absence. Would be very hard to do that at my normal JOB, let alone a bar / gig environment.

But the product served you faithfully for all this time, yet you turn on him lie a rabid dog...

WOW!

Ok, swoop, I understand. Would you share with me what song book software you're using and why you like it?

What I want is quality software that does what I want and a reasonable price.

Sorry Guys,

Over the years, I've purchased many products from the 'Big Boys'
Adobe, Autodesk and the likes...
From Avid Xpress Pro, After Effects, 3ds Max 2009, Photoshop CS3 just to name a few.

When they put out an update, it's for Real. You shell out your hard earned money, you get your upgrade.

A few years back I was injured in a car accident. Couldn't work for a year.
All projects stopped. A year later... Hit the Upgrade Tab and BOOM! Instant Upgrade.

This is how I do business.

Bob Latshaw and his 2 Week Upgrade Limit...
Never Again!

stogie,
I've purchased practically everything pertaining to karaoke that Bob Latshaw has to offer. But I did not purchase Karma. I downloaded the demo it crashed, I Deleted it.

I use KJ Pro and CDGFix, they cover about 90% of my problems.
Yea I own Song List Generator and KJ File Manger what a waste.

Your in a Good Position to Save Your Money. Step Back And Look At The Big Picture.
How many more products are you going to buy... 2 maybe 3 more.

My advise: Get a Laptop - CompuHost - CDGFix.
You'll really Save Your Money.
