A) 1 1/2 years
B) 5 years
C) maybe 8 years
It used to be some venues became an institution and that night of the week were (the) place. Now that trend is gone and it is more scattered.

A) 5-1/2 years (2 gigs)
B) 5-1/2 years (2 gigs) (and still going)
C) 5-1/2 years as far as I know (Swingcat might know of one longer, not sure)
There are venues who have had karaoke for over 20 years but the KJ's have changed every 2-3 years or so some have revolving doors as they can't keep good KJ's longer than a couple of months.
I've had several other gigs that have gone 2-4 years but I discontinued them as Holding down a full time job and doing 5-6 nights a week was causing serious burnout.

My current show, the only one I've ever had, is approaching three years. The longest in my immediate area, a primarily country show, has been going approximately twice as long as mine.

Started late in 92 actually.
There was 4 month break when this account changed owners and name.
Current owner has been there since 96-97
Would have one at 16 if the owner wasn't a loser who bounced checks.

With scant few responses it's hard to know what the membership experiences, generally, speaking in terms of longevity.
In spite of the all the places that offer karaoke around here and in spite of all the kj's who have been doing karaoke around here since the late 90's, there is one show that I have learned after further investigation that has been around for over 10 years AND has the same KJ as well.
In most cases, shows around here don't last much more than 2-3 years; although 3-5 years is not unheard of with changes in the KJ (5 years being the longest I had originally indicated my original post)!
I don't think from prior discussions and the current responses herein that Florida parallels what most of you are accustomed to. Would that be an accurate statement?
