I have no axe to grind. Just pointing the finger back at you after you've pointed it at so many.

My! Aren't we humble! (oh, and by the way, your semicolon should really be a comma- just so ya know!)

There are numerous people on these forums that don't know the difference between KNOW and NO or THERE, THEIR AND THEY'RE or TWO, TOO AND TO. Let's not even get into the people who can't spell some of the most commonly used words in the English language....

And let's not forget the common words "knight" and "night".
We sure wouldn't want to do THAT now, would we?

Hello, Pot?????
This is Kettle calling!

Don't you KNOW what the phrase AXE TO GRIND means?

A comma is used to indicate a SLIGHT separation of sentence elements.
A semicolon is used to indicate a degree of separation greater than a comma. I prefer greater degrees of separation.

I have already admitted to reading one word and thinking of another when I opened up another browser window to do a search. There are karaoke nights and there are karaoke knights. Your buddy knightshow is one of them and his lady friend/wife is one of the singers who constantly gets lied to about her talent level.

Now that you have stirred the kettle;;;;;; don't cry when some of the stew bubbles over the top of the pot occasionally.

Watch your spelling folks. The game is afoot and TWO can play at that game. I have been ignoring scores of errors but since axe grinding is the sport of the day;;;;; beware of the dog, I mean POT.

Funny stuff? Yeah the funniest part was when a guy wants to enter a contest in the middle of a contest, just hand the kj the disc & is up next....PUH-LEASE!

PUHL-LEASE???

Not so far-fetched as you might think!
It happened EXACTLY like that at a nearby bar about 9 months ago.
Incidentally, it was the same bar that wouldn't pay me after I set them up with a computerized system and transferred all their CDGs.
Just goes to show their integrity, or lack thereof.

According to Webster's Dictionary, farfetched is one word and doesn't require a hyphen.

PUHL-LEASE??? should be PUHL-LEASE!!! Duh!!!

Don't you have a life?
Why are you so quick to assume that everyone's out to get you?
My whole point was that if you are going to point the finger (and do it repeatedly and so spitefully), be prepared for it to come right back at you, as it did.
Try getting rid of that chip off your shoulder. It doesn't become you and I'm sure it only serves to make you miserable in the end.
Very sad, really.
Why not try being happy for once?
Why not try to be NICE to someone and make their day, instead of slogging venom about so copiously?
You know, you will attract far more bees with honey than you ever will with vinegar, as my Dad always told me.

P.S. : I really don't care if you rip apart every post I have ever made or ever will make looking for spelling and grammar mistakes. If that's what floats your boat and you obviously have nothing better to do, then please go ahead. Fill your boots.
It just would be a shame to show what little life you have by doing so, though.
LOL

Ummm, yes, I DO know what it means.
Apparently you DON'T.
Maybe this will help you:
http://www.phrases.org.uk/meanings/174000.
I have no dispute with you, though you apparently have one with everyone on the board.
I have no ulterior motive or hidden ends to meet.
My motive is plain and simple and out in the open for all to see:

I want you to stop and take a moment and THINK before you post your nasty remarks to members of the board that you have an axe to grind with for some reason. The reason you have issues with people doesn't matter to me. I really don't care. I want you to stop hi-jacking threads to get whatever it is you are looking for.
I want you to realize it is YOU that looks like the a$$ for doing so and if you would only hold your tongue(pen/keyboard) every now and again, you might, just MIGHT come out the better for it.

Yup.
Definitely nothing hidden here.

Again, I have no axe to grind.

I have said what I said because I said it.
Now, enough said!
LOL

Ummmm..... wrong again!
I meant it as a QUESTION (hence the question marks) and NOT an exclamation.
So no, it is correct as it stands.

Doubtful at best. The word PUHL-LEASE is most often used as an exclamtion, not a question. If you want to claim that it was used as a question, go right ahead. LOL

I don't have a problem with EVERYONE. Today, I have an issue with you and it is YOU who brought it about with your insinuation that I had a reading problem and a spelling problem. I'm just proving that my reading and spelling skills are better than most. All I did was post that I was having a problem finding a web site and you had to sling an insult my way in some sort of retaliation for some slight that I may have made in the past to someone other than yourself. That retaliation on your end is in fact an example of having an axe to grind and without your snide remarks;;;;; none of the aftermath would have transpired. I didn't attack anyone today to cause your response to me so you must have been waiting to do that for quite awhile. It seems to me that you are the one that needs something to occupy your mind so you just don't sit around waiting for me to make a spelling mistake so you can "get even" for something I might have said to someone else.

Well actually, when you read the context correctly, then it is clear to see that Diafel was questioning TTowntenor's use of "PUH-LEASE" and so is quite correct in the punctuation. Note that Diafel is also quite correct in her comment about proofreading too! But...

I'm always aware that when one points a finger, three are pointing back! :laughatthat:

LOL @ Grammatical mistakes.
You are quite correct.

And this was my whole point in the first place, but someone ( I won't say who) seems to miss it completely.
I, personally, am not that much of a stickler when it comes down to it. Heck, just check half my posts. I KNOW they're full of typos and other mistakes.
It's sheer laziness on my part, not correcting them before I post. However, to me, it's more important to participate in the conversation than worry about whether I've spelled a word correctly or used correct grammer.
Those things matter when writing newspaper articles and business literature and when building websites.

According to JEOPARDY, the two syllable word PUH-LEASE has been added to the OLD English Dictionary and is used as a sarcastic response.

http://dictionary.reference.com/browse/puh-leeze!

Seems to be an exclamation point in that definition. I didn't see a question mark anywhere on that web page.

Here is another link to a page that is all about GRAMMAR MISTAKES.

Enjoy your crow.

This thread is about karaoke movies and NOT about correcting English grammatical mistakes. This is getting to far and need to stop. If you guys want too teach English, this is NOT the place.

Go to the Lounge to do this kind for talk.
