Mixer - Mackie CFX-12
Reverb/FX - TC Electronics M3000 (awesome unit)
Compressor - DBX 1046 (a great quad unit)
Speaker management and eq - Behringer DCX2496 (vastly underated)
Feedback control & monitor eq - Behringer DEQ2496 (1 channel on the mic sub group for feedback control & the other channel on an aus send for monitor eq.) Wasted for these duties really.
Monitor (if ever required) - Boss MA15 personal monitor
Sub - Carlsboro Gamma 600 watt powered 15"
Mids - Pair of re-built 100 watt, no name powered 12" cabs with Eminence Alpha 12A speakers.
Highs - Eminence PSD2002S compression drivers fitted into the no-name mid cabs but powered from a separate no-name 75+75 watt, 1U racked amp.
Mics - Sennheiser E835, Sennheiser E845 (x2), wireless Shure SM58 (mine of course ! hehe)
Software - Winamp/AutoKDJ
Good enough!

Mains: Peavey PR12 tops, Peavey SP5 bottoms, crossed at 140 Hz.
Monitor(s): Yamaha BR12 powered by a bridged Art SLA1 amp
Mic(s): Shure SM58s
Computer or Disc: Discs - still loading my computer....890 discs takes a long time to upload!!
Hosting Program: Neumark 25+G player
Mixer: Yamaha MG16/6FX
Amp: Yamaha P5000S for lows, Crown XLS602 for mids and highs
Processor: DBX Driverack PA
Pristine sound fills the room . I don't use subs, but directing 500 clean watts/channel into my Peavey PR5 scorpian woofers creates the cleanest bass in town!! Vibrates the ladies' seats just right (so I'm told

You are using a full range speaker as a sub? Why?

Main: 2x Peavey PR15P powered speakers on cheap $25 stands.
Monitor: JBL Eon10 G2 (added during rebate offer in Sept)
Mics: 2 wired Shure PG58, 1 wireless performance gear PG58, 1 Shure 55SH(ii)
Dell 17" LCD (reclaimed for $0 from fire damaged movie theatre) on the LCD stand with the curved back pole.
SKB DJ106 rack containing:
Numark CDN25+G Dual Tray CDG player
Vocopro KJ7800Pro mixer (like the combined audio video fader)
Dell Optiplex SX280 w 320GB HDD (dual screen support, one DVI, one VGA)
Grandtec VGA to RCA video converter
TASCAM 144 USB sound card
USB wireless dongle
Logitech Quickcam Express webcam
Running winamp + custom Java program with MySql DB for songs, firefox for instant downloads on the night if needed. Webcam for singer pics. I sync the database once or twice a month to get singers pics and songs sung on website. ( www.classic-karaoke.com)
Songbooks: Generally try to print a pair once a month although if not many new songs it may lag. 4 of each artist/song book and try to keep them not more than 8 months old. Printed and coil bound at home with 10mil laminated covers.
How well does it run?
Peaveys have had the woofer become disconnected once or twice in the 3 years I've had them. Grille has broken connector on one of them. Plan to upgrade to JBL EON15 G2
Stands work okay but plan to upgrade to Ultimate supports TS80 or TS90.
CD+G player is fine, rarely used now.
Dell Optiplex SX280 has just popped 3 USB ports and I found out has a bad motherboard issue (no longer under warranty). Currently custom building a 1U 14" deep PC for about $400 new total.
Software only crashed once in last year (I blame the writer!) continually improving it, making more user friendly for others hosting using my equipment.
Mics - plan on getting SM58s soon and eventually replacing wireless mic with Shure that takes AAs rather than 9v (the 9v connectors become loose and need tweaking every 10 or so shows)
Will be using most old equipment for backup / second shows once I've split the song library effectively.
- Jonn

Yes - I work 2 gigs a week during the summer and both are SMALL to medium in size. The system seems to fit my current needs perfectly. Always looking to upgrade when the situation presents itself

...I knew someone would ask!!!
Technically, I am not using them as a subs, they are the bass cabinet in a 900 watt/channel full range setup. The SP5 is crossed to handle 50Hz to 140Hz and the PR12 is crossed to handle 140Hz to 21kHz.
The SP5 has AMAZING bass response, and the PR12 has AMAZING high-end, and they split the mid duties, so I am just letting each speaker do what it does best.

Nice new setup. If you are looking for the first place to upgrade, try adding a better mic. Microphones and speakers are the most important part of any system, and to me it is a shame to have EONs for darn fine sound but then only have a PG48 to sing through.

Thanks for the suggestion mckyj, I figured I'd start out with a less expensive mic to begin with, and as you suggested, I can ALWAYS UPGRADE. I just want to get a feel for the equipment before I start putting more expensive equipment directly into SOMEONE ELSES HANDS. Once I feel comfortable with everything, I probably will upgrade the mics.

If you buy a wired SM58, you won't be risking anything. Those things will last for decades under the hardest kind of use. Lonman has had a couple in nightly karaoke use for 14+ years, meaning 5000 shows or so. At 50 songs per night, that is a quarter million uses. Still ticking, just replace a ball for $5.00 every so often (I have had only one dented in more than a hundred shows so far).
Your cable is the much more likely source of replacement cost, and that is the same for any of them.

I do know one local singer who has "blown" sm58s , But that guy has a MAJOR voice. should be a pro. I agree about them, they will last forever under most use. whenever i get a new one i drop it once or twice to break it in before i let anyone else sing on it.
If it was me i wouldn't settle for jbl speakers, but im sure you will be happy. hopefully some day we can meet up someplace. hopefully if you come out to one of my shows it goes better than when Lord Airguitar showed up at my show..I had a bad night that night.
