I just booked an event for 01/04/09. Many of the people there will have grown up in India. Though they didn't request it, I would like to have some songs just as an added surprise. I have no idea where to find them however, and any help would be greatly appreciated....

Ace Karaoke has a small Hindi section but someone else would have to tell you what songs would be popular and I guess you would need to know the dialect of the people attending.

Make sure you know which dialect they speak. India has over 300 dialects, which Hindi is one of the dominant one. If they do not speak Hindi and you get Hindi discs, they will be useless and they will probably sing only in English.

And don't assume that they want a lot of Indian karaoke. That's akin to playing all songs from 1974 just because your crowd all graduated in 1974.

Eben, many thanks for the info. I'm not sure of the others, but the clients speak Hindi...

4003, right you are. They didn't request it, I just wanted a little pleasant surprise for them... I like to do a little extra for private clients when I can. Chances are they'll be singing oldies more than Indian... :D
