Sorry, can't help you with your request, but I would like to know...
Why wouldn't you want to use your own voice while hosting. Isn't half the show the host's personality?

Do a google search in your area for "voice overs" or "custom jingles" etc.
Contact some local recording studios and they can directy you to some good sources.
It would be more personal if you deliver them to your customers live but if you really want to do this then so be it.

Once again... my reply was not to YOU, as you never responded.. so why put your 2 cents in? Be constructive, not deconstructive. I asked a question. It does not require babble from "super posters" who only want to post a reply with no content.
Thanks for the help.

I don't see the need for the responses you gave. It was a simple question as to why someone would want to use this vs a live announcement? I wondered that myself? More a curiosity since this is an open discussion forum, people are going to ask questions. Maybe it's something someone else might want to try given the answer to the question may suit their needs as well.

Well, you guys are all the experts... so no, I guess Im doing something wrong.
Just leave ya with a final word..
I asked a question.. in forum.. an answer would have been nice instead of a reply as to why I would dare ask such a question and not do it myself. I follow these forums and see the same 6-10 posters reply to EVERY single question or post.. most without an answer or direct reply, which is exactly what I got with my question.
I dont feel it required any further detailed information as to "why".. I already said, my show is not about ME.
I wont post again or bother you people with another question. You super posters just keep replying back & forth to one another... Thanks for the help.

Again, it was a simple question. SInce you got little replies, it would seem that no one else has done this before & wondered why. Nothing more. If you feel it was an attack on your method or idea, then sorry. I am here to learn as well.
I will stay out of your thread now!

It seems this response may have been directed at me.
For one, I did not ask why you would "dare ask such a question".
Nor would I ever state such a thing to someone who asks a legitimate question, which yours was.
But so too, was mine.
As Lonman and knightshow stated, it was simply a question as to WHY you wouldn't want to do the announcements yourself. Nothing more, no malice intended or given.
I'm sorry that you somehow read animosity into my reply.
May I suggest that you cool your heels a moment and perhaps stop looking for ill will that isn't there?
We ARE a helpful community, but if you start attacking others with no provocation you are going to get people jumping in and stating their opinion, as has happened here. As previously stated, this IS an OPEN forum.
The first thing I stated in my post was that I couldn't help you with the answer.
If you were that offended, perhaps you should have stopped reading it at that point and moved on to the next reply.
Again, there was not, and is not now, any malice intended.
But I still would like to know why you wouldn't want to do the announcements yourself and if you don't want to answer, fair enough.
BTW: I'm wondering what I did to you to receive such a snarky, mean-spirited reply to my post?

Ok, I am going to give a reply here and try not to pi$$ everyone off because there is definitely some tension building here. The OP asked a question and you chose to answer with a question, that question being, " Why wouldn't you want to use your own voice while hosting. Isn't half the show the host's personality? " now I can see where the second part of that question can be misconstrued as a bit of a slight. Maybe if he had got a few answers first he wouldn't have reacted the way he did. Who knows?
What I do know is that everyone seems to be a bit edgy lately, EVERYONE! Including myself which is why I have not been posting much recently. I see threads and posts and I find myself having to bite my keyboard. Not so much this thread, I think maybe there has been just a bit of a misunderstanding.
Dan13601, you got some good answers, and like the way you stood up for yourself. Just do what you think is best and if you don't want anyone to know why you are choosing this route so be it. Ok, I've got my popcorn ready............Rudy.

Most may not realized it; this is the 3rd threads that Dan made asking this same question. It must be a subject that is very important to him.

why is it funny Matt? Some people are passionate about these things...I know that I am totally anal about anything I do to promote the hotel...and that means that I have taken it upon myself to write my own copy and voice and produce my own ads, because the creative teams at the various radio stations tend to be too young to have much life experience. A case in point is using juvenile words like yummy and tummy to describe our restaurant which is fine dining.
So I can totally understand if he wants jingles and messages created using someone elses voice...after a while unless you have something that stands out, the messages just wont get thru...the punters are programmed to listen to the voice ONLY when it calls their name to sing. That is when a voice that is a total contrast is kinda cool

An easy way to avoid comments or clarifying questions in the future, would be to use Google next time instead of a FORUM.

Good Idea... probably anyone new should just use search engines instead of this forum, since this forum is a JOKE. You make a good case for promoting the FORUM in general. You, once again, made my original case... you guys are only posting to get a post in.. not answering any questions.
Bet your Karaoke shows are all about how much voice time you get as well... instead of what it is supposed to be about, letting singers sing. I want to thank the 2 people who honsetly did reply, and the one I got off line. The other "power posters", can keep replying and posting one liners throughout the forum to see who gets the biggest scrore!!!
Jeesh...
Knightshow? Why is is funny that I have asked this qustion previously??? I got no answers before, and still did not get any... The FUNNY thing is that you are wasting your time replying again & again when you clearly have no answer or were not involved in the discussion... you inserted yourself into it just so you could be a part of it... once again; to post for the sake of it. Now that's FUNNY!!

I "insert" myself into MANY conversations here... I help out a LOT of people, and the REASON I sais "too funny" was I'd already answered you on one of your previous topics... not the answer you were apparently looking for, but still an option on how to do some stuff.
Dan, I thought you said you were done with this topic.
To answer your posted comments, I'll say we help A LOT of people, and on your previous topics, you received answers. That's what a forum is for.
Your opinion of me is duly noted. I'll take it for what it's worth.

Hey Danny BOY!!!! Why dont you just take you self righteous attitude crap and crawl right back where you came from?? Trying to step on people's throats here on KS GETS YOU NOWHERE BUT OUTTA HERE!! Especially from a NEWBIE!!!!
You came here asking for help and then COP AN ATTITUDE from long-timers who AT-LEAST checked in to take the time to RESPOND TO YOU AT ALL and all you have to offer in response is A RUDE AND COCKY COMEBACK??? JUST WHO THE HELLL DO U THINK YOU ARE???????
Time for YOU to turn right around and DIRECTLY APPOLOGIZE to not only MATT but ALL OF US HERE ON KS!!
CHECK YOURSELF AND YOUR RUDE, OBNOXIOUS AND SELF-RIGHTEOUS NON-SENSE at the door.
Oh and by the way---you NEED to pay attention to what MATT has to say. He's one of the MOST EXPERIENCED AND SKILLFUL KJ's and an ENOURMOUS SOURCE OF TECHNICAL KNOWLEDGE for all of us here.
And dont give lip to Lonnie either. He's one of our MODERATORS here.
If youre looking to get yourself 86'd your starting out in the right direction. QUICKLY.
