Thanks for the help guys. It seems that there is 'pain' involved here with what works and what doesn't. I want to buy the right equipment, no adapters if possible..sometimes is seems I keep throwing good money after bad and I can't seem to catch up. I will try one or both of these options (cable/adapter) and get back to you with the results or successes! MrD

As an update: I ordered the UCA 202 from Sweetwater and installed it and it works fine. It turns out that Compuhost will work with any external usb card that uses the windows usb audio codec. Digidesign uses their own driver so it is not supported.

I wonder why mine always lose color when I connect them? How long a cable are you using?

The one I sent MrDelicious was a $0.57 discontinued adaptor that used to be given away with video cards a while back.
I did it to prove a point. I've been using these suckers for three years, and never ONCE had a problem.
That site I had linked earlier ( http://www.svideo-rca.com/ ) has similar adaptors, as does Pccables.com... Svideo-rca.com mentions some adaptors that give out the black and white fuzzy pictures... I think they are ill-made ones that don't connect up a couple of the four pins that carry the s-video signal.

Can you ring it out so I can get a pinout? There are only two pins on an RCA, of course, so it may be that you can solder a jumper.
It would be nice to have this in the forum's memory so we can help people determine which are the right cable adapter. I have three of them that don't work in color, from three different places....

beats the heck outta me... seems reasonable, though.
I'm wondering... which three cables you have?
I have ONE more of the adaptors. PM me your address, and I'll send it to you!

Done! I will make a schematic and tell people how to wire a cable. I will also tell LondonLive and Ollie so they can digest it and make suggestions.
