Ok here is my problem we started with a simple little box 100.00 unit and moved up to the RSQ-NK2000U Multi-Format Karaoke Player w/ Scoring and USB/SD, Shure PG58 Corded Microphone with XLR to 1/4" Cable M-audio BX5a power speakers connected directly to RSQ connected to TV. working ok (this is just to play with at the house not the pro circuit ) then decided a little more control over Mics would be nice and was recommend to purchased the Behringer 1622FX Mixer (little over kill for us but looked fun) from a local shop, problem is now I cant get sound out, and I'm pretty sure the problem is me being over my head. can some help with connections / settings or do I need something else in the mix .. no pun intended

attached is the back of the RSQ

Also I have almost any type of cable needed do to trying multiple connections

Behrenger has a LOT of quality problems.

I used to use a model that was the next lowest one of that one (12 channel with Fx)... channel after channel went out after the FX died...

You'll be better to have a small yamaha or Mackie mixer with mic inputs!

Sorry for your loss, but honestly, that mixer is NOT worth any sort of repair!

You should be able to run the red and white audio cables from the audio (out) on the karaoke player to the tape (in) on the mixer. Then speaker cables from the back of the mixer to the powered speakers. The video still stays hooked up from the karaoke player to the tv. Good luck, have fun, keep on singing. Don't forget to thank Santa, HO,HO,HO.

Get an RCA-1/4" cord. You don't want to run into the tape in, some mixers don't even allow the tape in jacks to work with the mics as they are supposed to be used for breaks in live situations & actually mute all the other channels when in use.
Plug the RCA jacks into the audio out on the player - the one marked ext. Then plug into channel 11/12 on the mixer. This is a stereo channel so both left/right are controlled by 1 fader.
On the channel by the fader are some buttons, push the one that says main. This needs to be pushed in order to route the sound of that channel to the main output of the mixer. Now if you have the mixer main outputs connected to your PA, you should start hearing the music from the player when you turn up the channel fader (set to "0" mark) then gradually turn the main faders up.

Thanks for the correction Lonnie I'm still learning myself, but thought I'd give it a shot at helping. After reading your reply I re-read the manual I just got with my profx 12, and it confirmed your suggestion, except on my mixer, you connect to inputs 7/8. Thanks, and SORRY for steering you wrong OVERMYHEAD. Looks like I may need to change my name to GOOD TRY, BUT NO CIGAR. :lol

Thanks all for suggestion after working with manufactures I feel like a jerk .. The problem for my setup was a bad speaker and wrong mic cable, and seeing how I was doing all my test with both bad speakr and mic cable .. duh ! no wonder it would not work. simple test was connect mic to speakers but with both mic cable bad and speaker bad still could not tell, testing with second mic no luck 3rd and 4th mic no luck same combo with second speaker and success. replaced speakers and all connect straight forward and working great.

Thanks all
