Come out of hiding long enough to have a Christmas drink with us!
Hey Mikey, don't make me start another political thread to get you talking!

Have not had much to say lately. I know I have a lot to be thankful for, but this is the forth Christmas in a row that I have been out of work. I was laid off after thanksgiving and it has been so hard this time.

big time regrets Jim... it's hard all over. Kansas City is SERIOUSLY impacted this year... and the highest crime rate EVER (murder and personal assaults)...
Sad part is, it's gonna get worse before it gets better!

Sorry to hear about your job situation Jim...don't know what else to say except, I hope we see the bottom soon, so that a recovery is in site. Meanwhile, friends, relatives and local church groups etc. are invaluble in times like these....Ron

I really hate it for you Jim. I have work for the same company for 20 years and never worried about my job but I have this year. They have let go between 15 to 20 % of the employees here. And cutting our hours.
The reason I'm in Tennessee was no job and the 14% unemployment in Southeast Texas in the 80's. I have too many roots here to move again. But I would do whatever I had to, to keep things going.

Thanks guys, hearing from you is raising my spirits. I need to be more upbeat and positve. I am lucky enough to still have some IRA money that and has been seeing me through my layoffs. I worked 19 years with the same company and was let go in 2005. The job I am currently laid off from I started in August this year and they will call me back in Feb. Problem is this job was not quite paying the bills when I was working. Any way this is all just me not counting my blessings. I'll be ok.
Hope you keep your job jayvan. My roots have always been here in Tennessee.
