Good luck to you Sevarin. I know you'll make it work and have a great time with it. Try not to worry too much about patron loyalty and backlash. Sounds like the guy doesn't have much in the way of people skills so he probabaly doesn't have many "loyal" customers anyway.

Surprisingly enough, he does have a loyal following. But I took SwingcatKurt's advice and made the owner aware, that their might be a little bit of a fallout, if I take over. But I also mentioned, that I do have my own following and I'm very confident, that I can turn things around at that place.

So we'll see... I will know more in a little while.

Now that I know the facts Alex, take it and run. I just couldnt imagine someone with that tenure and amount of gigs being that blatant. One thing I dont do is badmouth others or compete with them in a dog eat dog fashion. I would still talk to the old man.

A few years ago I was at that point I was tired of fighting the drunks and burned out. So I quit and put one of the better systems in storage. After awhile I sort of got the old urge and at request filled in at a bar. Before I had gradually changed my format to more of a KJ'DJ and quit treating karaoke as a religion but started having fun with it. I hire my hosts now and we break every rule in the book. We have over 100 partying drunks to take care with a few singers that dont care if they get bumped or whatever. They are there to party not go thru a bunch of karaoke rituals.

We must be doing something right because the till in a place that seats about 150 runs 3 grand.. I though I was going to leave but when push came to shove they didnt want me to go so youd play hell running this old fart out.
