Thinking about installing a 500GB HD in place of the 160GB that my Dell came with.
Swapping the drives is no problem, getting Vista on the new 500GB drive is what I'm wondering about how to do. Do I just use the restore disk and install a fresh Vista onto the new HD?
I can get an external 500GB, remove it from it's enclosure and put it into the laptop, then put the 160GB from the laptop into the external enclosure to be used as a backup drive.

No problems with microsoft as far as Vista on the new internal HD?
No problems registering the registration code at installation?
This is a 100% legal, legitimate Vista that came with the laptop.
I need to rummage around and find the disk, I think it's one of those restore disks that goes back to the original configuration.
