I'm glad to hear other people like Chartbuster. Chartbuster made probably 3/4 of my collection. Of course I frequent Big Mamma's in Seymore TN and bought most of it in their store. They carry everything Chartbuster has out.

You bet Their Air Supply album is simply incredible and talk about Roy Orbison I'm very pleased with my latest purchased from them except the Chicago album, it sucks... So far, Brian Adams, Air Supply & Roy is perfection, it beats anything out there for the sound quality

I haven't been impressed with their pop/rock of the past. It seems this year they did get on the ball a little more. Better than i've heard, even from last year (well ok 2007).

I have a 2 cds-set of Airsupply video karaoke (original) based on their live performance concert. I don't think CB can come near that.

Are they from Air Supply's own band? Honestly, the Chartbuster disk sounds way better than the original Greatest Hits AS album But, never heard yours
PS. Jian, I recorded this one using a Chartbuster and I lowered the key by half a tone. Is the DVD version better

Third time in a row, I have ordered a Chartbuster Custom (yes, understood some of you won't order a protected disc but we aren't computerized yet) and it has arrived in 5 days--with a free didn't sell so well disc thrown in! I even ordered a few pop songs on this one because Sound Choice is having trouble with their custom's since they farmed out to Australia and I can't afford the wait anymore. (Still trying to get one from Oct.) The Chartbuster versions aren't bad. I am still feeling loyalty to Sound Choice and their rock songs so I hope they get things straightened out but Chartbuster is chipping away.........

More times than not, I prefer Sound Choice, and hate DK and its midi in the background. At least half of my 2007 and 2008 are chartbuster, pop and country. I am happy with almost all of it, but still get soundchoice for the other half. I bought Chartbuster's pop and country vol.2 for 2008, and am happy with those.

there are MANY DK tunes that are not midi-ish. I prefer some of their versions to other manus (Fleetwood Mac songs for instance!) Although DK DID change many of their songs' key where supposedly it was "easier" to sing.

Regarding DK - I don't fully understand the criticism that their tracks are not in the original key? I realize that if someone sings a particular song with some regularity and uses tracks other than DK, that the DK version could be a surprise. But is said "surprise" necessarily going to be a problem?

I have encountered that a few times. I know that Folsom Prison Blues is up one, Paradise City and Sweet Child O' Mine are down one. That is a good move for most singers who sing those songs....
I have a friend who heard the DK Dancing Queen and swore to me that it had to be the original track. He said he had heard that song too many times to make a mistake about it. I personally like DK very much -- I have every of their Millenium/Premiere disks and consider them to be the backbone of my collection in many ways. They are very definitely not MIDI.

The one DK we have has excellent arrangements that sound like the real thing. But my boyfriend hates the flute. I didn't even notice it until he pointed it out and asked why I couldn't find the tune when they were giving it to me........now those kind of things jump out at me, too.

I don't mind the flute, because if you are on pitch and on tempo, it is not very noticeable. If you did lots of variation from the actual song melody, it might be a problem.

I'll let that pitch and tempo comment pass.......but you are correct. The DK flute is much more subtle than on some brands. I think I heard one Backstage track where it seemed like they were using a high school tuba player for a guide.

I am saying that you don't notice it if you are on pitch and on tempo. You didn't notice it, did you?
