If you have a lot of urban radio hits, consider renaming the artist to just the primary artists name. Get rid of the "feat" or "featuring" part. It just adds wasted space to books sorted by artist. Example would be Yeah. There is a listing for Usher and others with Usher feat Lil John. Drove me crazy, now I just clean up the artists name prior to ripping. Charlie Daniels Band is another fun one. I found four different forms of his name before I caught it. With hundreds of disks to be ripped, using two computers, and the urge to use the new toy (compuhost), it got real easy to just gloss over them

Only drawback do eliminating the ones saying featuring is alot of times those are duets & people won't understand that it isn't a duet without the 2nd name. I eliminated the featuring & just put '&' instead for most of them.

I rename the artisst during the rip. In cdgrip I click the track in question and then use the manual namming option. Microstudio just let's you left click the track for options.

As far as duets, I'm really only talking about the lastest urban hip hop stuff that isn't really a duet. Most of the latest stuff is not even close to a duet. Its more of the consistency in the artists naming, or lack thereof, that wastes song book space. Most of my singers aren't interested in "by artist" anyways but I have to have a couple.

That's pretty interesting in itself. We had a poll (or maybe just a thread) about artist vs title books & the majority with a high percentage said their customers prefer artist books. I know I print more artist books than title for years simply due to the high request for them.
