When I boot up with my s-video connection (s-video to rca, like
this one), I stay connected to the TV, but I have an A/B splitter (common one from Radio Shack - start with A side), where I can play vcds on my dvd/cdg player (B side). Once booted I switch back to the PC (A side), I will then play a series of advertisements on my pc.
Everybody's show is unique on how they want to do it. I personally never upgraded to Vista as I KNEW it had problems like this. My old stable workhorse is never on the net, so once it initializes and sees the TV, it doesn't try to get smart, and it sees the TV connection all the time.
There's a setting I think on Vista you can click off but I have no idea what it is!
! I've heard someone mention it here once.
