I am a relatively new KJ. I have been hosting karaoke in the Milwaukee area for a year and a half.

I work a full time job that happily puts food on the table and pays the mortgage, so KJ-ing is a hobby job. The majority of my profits go back into buying toys and more music. Even as a hobby, I have one or two gigs a week, which is pretty muh where I want it.

My website is http://www.RevelatorKaraoke.com. I created this with Website Tonite, and I am happy with the cost for hosting and the quality of the website it creates. The editor they give you is a bit cumbersome.

Hello John,

Sounds like you and I have alot in common. My wife and I have always enjoyed Karaoke, and we have gone "semi-pro" about 3 months ago as a sideline.

We have a few gigs a week and find with our unique situation (part-time KJs), we are able to be much more flexible in arrangements with venues than the full-timers during this hard economic situation.

With my wife and I, it is a great arrangement since I run the system and she mixes with the crowd and gets people involved.

We have our domains and have website tonight as well, but haven't taken the time to build the sites yet. It seems like it may be a little complicated. In the meantime, we use meetup.com to gather regulars.
