I'd be interested in hearing from Lonman, as he runs multiple nights in the same club, and others who do the same.
After 5+ years at one of my clubs, where I've drawn very good crowds, I pulled the plug on my Saturday night show and moved to a new club that is NOT established and started a Thursday-Friday-Saturday-Sunday schedule there.
(There were many, many factors involved in the shift, but that's another topic.)

My questions for the same-venue KJs:
Do you find multiple nights impose a limit on your regular crowd, i.e. - can you expect your regulars to show up night after night after night after night?
Have you found ways to build specific crowds for specific nights?
Any suggestions, warnings?

where I first started kjing, was a house system, seven nights a week.

In NO way did it diminish the karaoke experience. Multiple hosts, multiple hosting techniques all seemed to make each night special. One night was mostly country, another mostly 80s... almost always you had your busy fri and sat nights... it just gave the singers an option to choose from!

We work three different venues, six nights a week. We prefer this for a few reasons. First of all you don't have all your eggs in one basket. If for some reason one goes down, you still have the other ones. As for regulars, each venue has its own regulars (again not having to rely on the same people every night). At one venue there is karaoke there two nights when we are not and doesn't affect us.

I suppose the only negative is moving the equipment but that's not a big deal as we have that down to a science taking about 20 minutes.

I wouldn't necessarily expect the same people night after night, you may get a few, but I have found that each night seems to have it's own set of regulars.

Drink specials, promo giveaways, games - people like to win free things. I don't know what you mean by specific crowds, I wouldn't limit any night to any one crowd personally.

Being it's new, it's going to be a complete new build up. If you have email/MySpace, send out messages often to your group/singers. Advertise the new show on every free website possible, even Craigslist you can advertise for free, some people actually look here. If you DON'T have a MySpace, set one up & get your singers that have one added to your list, get emails from your singers as well.

I don't really have any warnings to give, I treat each night as a different entity.

Different night, different regulars, some over-lap....at least in my experiences....
