Opinions Please
Rate the Dangerous collection on a Scale of 1-10 as to the value of purchasing it
Compare the quality of the tracks to as many of the following you are familiar with: Zoom, DK, SC, CB, Supercore, SGB, SAVP(Nutech), PHM, Sunfly, Legends

at least as good as sgb zoom or sunfly. there are some tracks that are great and you can pick up the collection pretty cheap. I use there "War pigs" any time i get a request. also prefer there "wish you were here", by pink floyd. many good tracks for not much cash.

These are actually very UNDER rated by many. They have some very good musical renditions of many songs not available anywhere else (or at least used to be not available). SOme of the lyrics aren't all accurate, but close enough for the government. I often choose Dangereous versions even over SC.

I'd give them a five in quality, and a seven for song uniqueness

The 1st 7 in the set were of top-notch quality (I believe they had 11 discs in the set). The remainder of the set was OK/average. If I recall correctly, I think that the partners of DANGEROUS broke up after the 4th disc, and then ALL HITS (1 of the partners who was with DANGEROUS was now with ALL HITS) took over the DANGEROUS titles.

Dangerous has some songs that nobody else has and the quality is decent. Overall I'd give them 7/10 - I picked up the whole set for not much at one time and use those versions a lot.

My understanding was:
All Hits == Sweet Georgia Brown
I can tell you that almost all of the All Hits songs I have seen out have been identical to the SGB version of the same song. (I do "Alone Again Naturally" and "If You Could Read My Mind". Identical, sound and lyric.)

Nah. I don't know all of the interconnections here, but All Hits is VERY GENERALLY of better quality than SGB, with exceptions.
I rate Dangerous around an 8
One thing to remember is that any Dangerous discs that you buy now are burns. They have been out of business a LONG time.

The last set I bought off of E-bay was about 6 months ago, they were brand new (seller had many sets), not burns. They were pressed discs. The printing on them look absolutely nothing like the originals though.

It's interesting how one knowledgeable person believes that DG personnel were involved with All Hits at some point. Another poster believes that he has AH's tracks that are the same as SGB and pointed out two tracks from both that are identical.
One person rated the DG a 5, another a 7, and another an 8.
One person very highly praised DG for their "Wish You Were Here" by Pink Floyd. In another thread SGB was praised for their Pink Floyd.
Well... Although the project I have undertaken regarding SGB is far from complete, I am in the process of revisiting the entire collection. I am doing so because I am convinced that I have come to underrate and under use the material. In performing my review, I started to notice that many times DG had the same titled tracks as the ones I found from SGB. And please note that I have the complete set of both DG and SGB. And while I didn't realize it immediately, there are DG tracks that are EXACTLY the same as SGB.
So, some people who ran DG are purported to have been involved with AH
At least one poster believes the AH tracks are dups of some SGB
If you have access to both the DG & SGB series, check out the following:
Pink Floyd - Wish You Were Here
Ugly Kid Joes - Everything About You
Alanis Morissette - You Oughta Know
Eric Clapton - Anything For Love
This should be most interesting to those who regard DG in a positive way and at the same time trash SGB.
Furthermore, I don't recall anyone ever posting any basically negative comments about the DG collection; in fact, I remember most as being quite positive. I also remember seeing negative reviews of AH.
And some people have noted how they have made it a point to systematically replace their entire SGB collection for better (more professional) tracks.
Lonman stated that some of his DG tracks are better than SC! Perhaps some SGB tracks are also better than SC?

The Dangerous disks I have are identical to the ALL Hits I have except with more gain(power) and better graphic
VERY pleased with them, I rate them way higher than SGB, not hard to beat

I don't doubt they were sold as brand new AND professionally made. Lon. The thing is that the original label hasn't been in production for YEARS.
There are at least four sets (maybe more) of "New" Dangerous discs out there. By that I mean professional, including coded discs. Each label is different. Red on gold, red on black with flames, etc...
The only OTHER explaination: IF All Hits or someone else bought the label, and keeps re-releasing it. I just can't find anything that says that happened. As far as I know ( better phrased?) Dangerous is a dead label, just like SGB.

To summarize AT THIS POINT:
One poster believes that A principle from DG were involved with (starting?) AH
Another poster believes that the AH tracks, essentially, are SGB material
A recent post purports that the AH tracks are, essentially, dups of the DG material. As an aide, please note that the very same poster finds DG is far superior to SGB!
And... I have suggested that some DG tracks are, essentially, dups of SGB.
So if the person who proposes the AH=SGB, is correct?
And, if the person who proposes that AH=DG, is also correct?
Than, using basic principles of logic/mathematics DG=SGB, which agrees with my theory I have developed during the last few days that some DG tracks are identical to sGB!
THE EQUATION WAS EDITED AFTER CUEBALL NOTICED MY ERROR

Just to give Eric more vague details to drive him crazy: The only other sets that the same person selling the Dangerous Karaoke on EBay offers are: SGB and All Hits.

Nah.... it doesn't drive me crazy. In fact, it makes perfect sense.
A friend of mind who seems to have goal of collecting as many tracks as can be gotten, recommended the AH collection to me "way back". Considering the price on Ebay I was inclined to get it. HOWEVER, when I compared it to my catalog of songs, there was very little there I didn't already have. So, regardless of the cost, it didn't seem worth it to me.
With hindsight, that was an excellent decision. I did wonder at the time if the AH tracks might be superior to some of the ones I already owned. If they were as good as my associate suggested, I wondered at the time if they were still worth buying?
Your input just confirms my decision was best not to invest in the AH collection. As to the DG vs SGB, I don't think there are that many dups, but I'm not done with my review.

Yes the originals were black with red flame like design graphics on them.

All Hits, SGB, Helluvadisc, MegaHits, and a couple others are all one in the same. The Dangerous discs I have are very different from the All Hits & even the few SGB discs I do have. Many renditions of SGB are identical to All Hits - a friend of mine has an original SGB disc that HAS All Hits graphics on them. Where did you find info on All Hits BTW? I know our local stores didn't even know that from their inception - nor any of the other associated brands?

I'll stick with my assertion about the specific 4 SGB/DG tracks I noted.
And let's not confuse publishing company names with tracks. If, for discussion purposes, there were people from SGB subsequently involved with AH or DG, that doesn't mean all tracks published by AH and/or DG were SGB products. On the other hand, it does mean that there is reason to believe that some specific tracks are SGB's. And some of us have suspicions that concur as to that likelihood.
