Well my gig originally scheduled for the 9th was postponed to the 16th. (last night)
I am very pleased to say that it went fantastically. I had no feedback issues at all. I want to personally thank each and every one of you who offered advise to me. I took all of the advise and followed the suggestions and was able to finally get a grasp on the use of my equipment. You helped me gain knowledge and comfort using the mixer board. I realized that I had everything set wrong! I did not know anything about the gain settings, the high, mids and lows! I set everything to "zero" and started fresh. Making sure the lights do not go above the green to yellow. (NO RED)Using your advise I was able to get it just right. No volume problems, feedback or anything. I even found a comfort zone in mixing the mic settings as per the singer!!!! I placed the monitor directly in front of the singers ON THE FLOOR! It worked.

Anyway, I could go on and on. I just wanted to say thanks to all of you. This is a great forum and I feel so fortunate to have found it. Hopefully some of you who gave me advise will read this. If so, let me know. And please , I am always open to your help. Unfortunately, being a greenhorn, I can't help you very much.

I would think Tony that your message of thanks would be appreciation enough for those that helped :)

You won't always be a greenhorn, Tony. All you need to do is pay it forward when you can. Someone new to this forum will come along, perhaps asking the very same questions you asked, and you will have the answers!
Congrats on the success of your gig. I wish you all the best and many more successful shows.
Cheers!

Congrats!! Im happy to hear that your show went smoothly due to our help. Ive really only trained one guy in person how to run a board, But he now runs a really good show, and rarely has any trouble with sound , due to just keeping it simple.
AS stated before, return the favor for somebody else who needs it, weather here , or if you encounter a show in person where a KJ needs help and is willing to take it.

wow....most of the time people just take the information and run. Seldom do we ever hear if the problem was fixed, and what turned out to be the problem(kinda leaves me in suspence)....thank you for posting a thank you, and telling how things turned out...... :)

Well, I just appreciate the fact that some of you were willing to take my issues seriously and took the time to help! It's amazing how a little education can build your confidence levels. Now that I have the basic mix, etc. in place, I can experiment a bit on my own with out the fear of screwing it all up!
Thanks again.
