ben djk for about a year. I am about to embark on a journey to do on location shows.
was working at a bar(please no rehab songs)
the question i have right now is i want to build my music library. what is the best
and what i mean by the best is what is out there that sounds like the song from the radio.
right now i have a 100 disc collection of dkg and a 157? disc collection of Monster hits.
what would yall suggest that would be good to fill in my library for a good mixture.

my opinion is you need a great "core" or foundation system... and then build from there. Every week, with your money earned on your gigs, put that back into your system in the form of more discs.

I'd start with the SC Foundation 1 if you can still find it! Then Get the greatest of each year in each format, country, rock, and pop.

Browse disc specials from retailers... this will be your biggest friend.

I've heard many of the monster discs, and not been terribly impressed with them.

not trying to cause any problems :withstupid: i guess the main thing i would hate is investing a ton of money into some songs and they sound like someone made them on a electric piano in demo mode.

Hi bubbachili, the reason you're not getting much of a response, may be because of other threads currently on the forum concerning different discs manufacturers, and which is the best, or junk. Sooo, without trying to stir up a hornets nest, the best suggestion I could give you, is check the soundchoice site for foundation 1 and 2, also Chartbuster Essentials, volume 1-8, Supercore 2008, Backstage, Zoom, Sweet Georgia Brown, Top Hits Monthly, and I'm sure there are others that have a Large number of discs, as far as which is better than the other, it depends on YOUR personal situation, budget, etc. I'd rather not try to impose my opinion on you, or anyone else. Hope this at least helps somewhat.

Rosario

Hello: You might also want to browse the other threads that Rosario mentioned as this subject has been discussed very recently and is still ongoing.

On ebay, they have new sound choice foundations 1 and 2, and bricks 1 thru 5 for way cheaper than I ever payed for mine. I'm sure the foundation 1 is the re-issue, but there's not that much difference in it and the original foundation 1. Having the Dk collection, and the 100 cdg sound choice set sounds pretty impessive to me for starters..... :) ....I'd sing at your gig any day with that mix.... :!:

with all of the debate about manufacturers, no one seems to disagree that the SuperCore set ( not just the 2008, but the 38 disc standard set) is a HUGE and economical asset.
