I played at a new bar last night and it was great . A little feedback problem at first but no biggie ( might have something to do with the my new Nady wireless mics )
karaoke started right off and went till closing time with NO BREAKS at all
the bar owner wants me there three times a month . Can't play there that often yet because of prior bookings but it's a possibility in the future

Was there karaoke there before you? That’s really something that you got so many singers, right-off the bat

What model Nady mic’s are you using?

I'm not sure how much karaoke they had there but the owner said that he had someone else there last week and was "less than pleased "
I was amazed at the amount and talent of the singers there Usually I end up playing at least an hour of music throughout the night
The Nady's are DKW- Duo ( cheapies I know )
I'm there agin in two weeks I hope thinhs go as well as they did this time

I have those mics, too. They were on sale, and the reviews were really positive, so I decided to give them a try.

Although they seem to work well, I’ve never used them out because I was concerned about the handling noise.

Other than the feedback (which probably wasn’t even the mics fault), how did they work out for ya?

Was handling noise an issue?

The last few months I've been using the Nadys also. It's a small bar and the mics are never more than 20ft avway from the receiver..That being said . I've experianced no handling noise and or feedback problems. The only problem I''ve exeperianced is drop-outs but as soon as I put in fresh batteries .. back to normal.
The key to ANY mic is to eq properly for the MIC itself as they all sound unique.
Tweak for each singer !

DJJohn - You said FEEDBACK at 1st --How did you correct it ???

gain was way too high On a differant site someone was saying that you had to crank it up to be heard trust me not the case . I may switch to a xlr cable instead of the cheap 1/4 to 1/4 that the mics came with
also for this bar I can see the need for a monitor

A better mic will decrease your susceptibility to feedback. If you look at how mics are described, one of the things which is sited is "gain before feedback". This is important at karaoke, because if you want your quiet singers to be heard you do have to crank the gain.

A lot of singers keep coming back to my shows, because I try real hard to make them be able to 1) hear themself and 2) have other people hear them. Good mics help me with that.

I read on another site that the Nady's have a wider cone of feedback susceptibility than more espensive mics. So if you get someone who likes to point the mic down toward your monitor in between lines you can get a problem. Otherwise, the only person who has complained about ours was a former Nashville back-up singer and she didn't complain until I offered her the better corded mic and then she found out what brand cordless she had been using. Then she thought maybe she hadn't been getting full sound out of them. We offer the choice but most want the cordless. We don't buy expensive cordless because it is a pretty rowdy mic dropping crowd.

that's exactly why I went with the Nadys I do have a sure sm58 but people started getting me nervous I also have a corded mic but everyone seems to like the cordless ones
nobody even said anything about the feedback . I did my best to minimize the problem It was one of those things that I noticed but nobody else seemed to

since it was your 1st night at the new gig I'm sure with some experiance with those cheap Nadys you'll have them sounding as good as the wired sm58 !!
