Diafel like many of us here actually are passionate about their craft...but she takes it one step further and rather than selfishly hold everything back that experience has taught her, shares it in the hope she can assist others in a field she is passionate about.
That actually should be applauded not derided. You would have a real reason to complain if all of the experience here refused to share.
So new boy, how about apologising to the lady and attempting to wipe the chip from your shoulder. My opinion of your idea, if I were to witness it..."what a richard cranium"

Wow, Morgan, what a nice thing for you to say. Thank you for that. I find what you have said extremely valuable and it's much more appreciated than you know.
Cheers!

Quote: Honey, it's a funny idea.
Truly, it is NOT. You will alienate your audience. I can guarantee it.
You may find it funny, but that'sbecause it seems you like the attention more than amusing your customers.

He's not a KJ, but it's still not funny.

Pranks like this are a subtle form of domination designed to give the perpetrator a false sense of superiority. If a KJ would try a stunt like this he would be out of a job in short order. Since you aren't a KJ, go for it if your purpose is to totally alienate the room.

I'm a person who takes April Fools Day a bit too seriously:)
I have a brother who is SO easy to fool, and over the years I've gotten him with some pretty good ones. And I swear, he never sees it coming. (year... after year... after year) But then I give in too easy and can't hold it out for long. (yeah, I tend to smirk and giggle way too early in the game, can't help it)
Striking a fake argument with your g/f or b/f at a bar, just to see the crowd get all dramatized by it, then saying "April Fools, we were teasing" at the end of the night? Honestly, I for one don't think that would be extreme in any way- I agree it could be funny (depending on the crowd present). Now, if it were a "family event"- yeah, or if you were the KJ- that would maybe be a strange type thing for the host to do. But, just as a regular member of the usual karaoke crowd? My local crowd would probably laugh about it. It would be free entertainment for the evening.
(of course, if it were my husband and I, the local crowd would most likely roll their eyes and think "Oh, that's just them two arguing again, no biggie"... Lol)
It would actually be kinda funny to see a thread here where people shared their AF pranks with everyone. (might get some good ideas too)

My absolute favorite came a month after I got laid off from an arts center. We all maintained friendships - they even dished me a little contract work - so I thought it would be fun to continue my April Fool's tradition that year. I had a friend who was the editor of the local paper, so I convinced her to call them during a staff meeting and ask for comments on the news that their former co-worker had just won $100K in the state lottery. I apparently had them all abuzz for ten minutes until the accounting lady said, "Excuse me - it's Michael, and what day is it today?"
