Worth repeating.

I've got over 500 auctions under my belt (including all auctions) and I've been duped a couple times. Once by someone that only had 1 feedback and once by someone with less than 99% positive. I will no longer deal with anyone that falls in those categories. Both times I got my money back by going thru ebay and paying thru my bank (paypal) vs using a credit card (also by paypal).

absolutely agree on that! Ebay is a great tool, but it's NOT for the timid and those that don't know how to work it WELL.

Like me  I know how to buy but I wouldn't know how to sell

Selling sucks! I hate figuring out shipping and handling and then the trip to get the item mailed.

I hated the idea of selling until I realized I have a UPS account and can just create a shipment on line, printing out the label. Then I just give it to my UPS guy if he is delivering that day or drive it down to the local dropoff point. No dealing with people at the hardware store who can barely type as they try to figure out once again how to ship a UPS package.....

sellings not bad, but the ONE neg feedback I got was from some idiot that didn't read the auction correctly... I said I only accept paypal, and this fool wanted to send me a check. Wouldn't take now for an answer. Finally we agreed to disagree and left it as that, but we had to go thru Ebay as the arbitrator.

Most people usually charge twice for shipping, but SOMETIMES you'll get some scam artist that will sell for $1. but the S&H is the serious price of the item plus! They do that to avoid ebay fees!

I've tried selling some stuff, and have done ok, but I didn't like the whole shipping/handling thing either....
I have though had pretty good luck *knock knock* with purchasing stuff. I got my feet wet with a bad deal tho, so maybe I'll be lucky on the computer!! :)

Set up some rules:

Feedback % must be top notch. Ebay now does not allow sellers to give negative feedback to buyers. Overall that's a great thing for buyers because buyers don't have to worry about getting a negative in retaliation, especially if they are like me (364 positives- no negatives) and don't want a black mark. If they do have some negatives, how recent are they? What were they for?

Make sure the specifications of the laptop are above the minimum requirements needed to run your program and store your songs--if you aren't going to put them on an external hard drive.

This is all cake, this little stuff. Try selling 75 used boats, and trailers to people out of state, and making them ALL happy to get 100% positive feedback. Don't know if I have the patience to do it again though....
