Yeah, I think someone was on here talking about Kurrents a while back. I've never seen their tracks, though!

With the prices I am seeing (under $40 for 100 current songs) I have to wonder if they are paying all of their royalties.
Even if the disks were made in the UK where the licencing is easier and generally cheaper it would cost about $25 for the licencing alone. Throw in other costs and profits along the production and distribution chain I do not see how it is possible to produce 100 song karaoke sets that can be sold at such prices.
Since I can not seem to find a website for a company selling wholesale (but a lot of e-bay sales) suggests that this may be a less than 100% above board company.

Yes I saw a few stores that sell the product but not anyone that actually claims to make the disks....
Not to say that a website is a requirement of a legal company but an illegal company trys to make it hard to find the person responsible.

I doubt they are a UK manu.... no one over here has heard of Brad Paisley and Taylor Swift and Carrie Underwood , it would be crazy money to produce discs no one would buy.
According to an Ebay listing that is selling one on it's own... "These CD's are manufactured by the company that makes Supercore Karaoke sets and contain current hits from 2007 until December of 2008. These CD's are usually only sold as a set and there are no cases or artowrk so I will include a print out of the song titles and artists along with each CD. The Artwork in the picture is the cover that is included if you purchase the entire set. "

It was said a little bit tongue in cheek, but the only people I've ever met who have heard of Brad Paisley and Dixie Chicks are line dancers. . . I've also never heard anyone sing "Turn the page" by Bob Seger. A lot of music slips us by, because it doesn't chart over here. . . my only hope of anyone singing some of the major american hits is if it's used on a movie soundtrack.
We had great fun with the PRS guy who did a survey on us to check where the royalities need to be paid to ( they have to know the song title and who made it famous) by singing "When you say nothing at all"... because over here people only know it as Ronan Keating .
