Rip
I am still playing around with possible configurations. However, the one I prefer at the moment runs the sub out from the monitor jack, which gives complete freedom to separately control the volume of the sub.
I purchased a monitor when I got the board and quickly learned that for karaoke I much prefer to plug the monitor into the AUX1 output rather than the monitor jack. So, there's absolutely no conflict with plugging the sub into the monitor output!
Lastly, you'll be interested to know that I loaned the sub to a friend last night. He was also using my partner's 15" QSC's. I couldn't resist stopping by. So I got to hear them all together for the first time.
The only way I know how to described the quality of the sound is to compare it to a recording. It was completely balanced and crystal clear.
It was hard to leave.

Eric, that's how I ended up getting the sub to work, I just hadn't figured out how to control the volume separately but I did this afternoon. The sound is incredible!
So it held it's own against the QSCs?

I was not commenting about a comparison of the Carvin's vs the QSC's; the QSC's are being used as "mains"
My partner had purchased the 15" QSC's just last month. It in most cases he is using house systems. So I hadn't as of yet heard the 15's! Then, of course, I just got the sub, which I hadn't as of yet used it out.
On Friday, a friend borrowed the QSC's and asked if he could use/hear/borrow the Carvin. So, I obliged him in that regard.
Meanwhile, I figured, why not go hear it all myself, set up for the first time? It was just awesome!
One important new bit of info I hadn't as yet shared with you. On some tracks, the "highs" bleed a bit through to the sub. If you keep the sub set on 80Hz that will virtually eliminate the "problem"

That's what I have it set at. No issues as of yet.
