I was wondering if anyone is currently using the MuxLab VideoEase 500016 S Video balun system? I was thinking of purchasing three or four of these little units. Seems like it would be a lot easier then running all those cables. How are these working out for you? Hows the signal quality? George

This would only be considered if high bandwidth is required (karaoke graphics do not require a large bandwidth) and you have long runs 100-1000 feet. It would also be used in a high interference area. For 99% of our apps a s-video to RCA adapter would suffice along with the shacks video DA.

OK I'm a little confused  You want to do this to keep from running cables yet you have to run cat 5 cables instead of coax so uh whats the difference :?:

as per muxlab
The VideoEase S-Video Balun allows one (1) S-Video channel to be connected via two (2) unshielded twisted pairs. Used in pairs, the S-Video Balun is used in home or commercial applications as a smart, fast and cost-effective means of connecting S-Video equipment using twisted pair instead of coax cable.

Also coax is stronger and if the ends get pulled off much easier to replace than cat 5. I also believe that you would get a better signal quality than cat 5.

Sorry guys, i was under the impression these were a wireless transmitter system. I was told later that they're not..my bad. Can anyone suggest a good wireless system?

I looked at one of those cheap $19.95 house wireless systems for sattellite, not really interested in a cheap home unit. George
