I've been doing some checking and here's what I found:
The CAVS 202G unit is advertised to play these formats:
DVD, VCD, CD+G, Super CD+G, CD, CD-R, MP3, MPEG-1, MPEG-2, MIDI
While the CAVS 202G II unit is advertised to play these formats:
DVD, VCD, CD+G, Super CD+G, CD, CD-R, MP3, MPEG-1, MPEG-2, JPEG, Audio-CD, HDCD, CD-RW, DVD-R
According to the listed formats, the 202G unit is compatible with MIDI formats whereas the 202G II is not.
On the other hand the 202GII unit shows to be compatible with JPEG, Audio-CD, HDCD, CD-RW & DVD-R formats whereas the 202G unit is not.
Now I have lots of questions...
How is CD different from "Audio-CD?"
What is "HDCD?"
What exactly are "MP3" and "MIDI" formats?
Please forgive my lack of knowledge in these areas.
